Deck Techs

Buyer beware DON'T hire this company. It started off well the owner I wanted a fence installed Tyson came by to check it out. We agreed on 1050 with a 450 deposit. I gave him his deposit and that's when the problems began. Set a date for the Friday before Canada. We mutually agreed to change date to the following as it was supposed to rain. The following Tuesday he no shows. No call or text. Texts in the evening says he will be there the next day same thing. When you call him he doesn't answer. When I finally get him on the phone he agrees to give me my money back. He then texts me to tell me he will only return 350 and the 100 is for his time. He did return 150 but haven't heard back from him. If you're thinking of hiring him DON'T he is a very unprofessional and will take your money. I learned the hard way don't trust this guy.

This was a story of promises, demands for more money and excuses, a three part project where I was left with a huge mess, nothing finished, and poor workmanship on the 50% that was done. Add to that screaming fits from Tyson to his worker in the early morning that brought complaints from neighbours. Claims of money spent for materials that never showed up. I paid out over $10,000 and now have to find someone else to finish the job. A month of stress.

I hired Deck Techs to build a rear deck. Work progressed slowly, with multiple rounds of excuses and delays.

After many elapsed weeks, I decided to finish the project with someone else.

IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT THIS COMPANY.... HIRE SOMEONE ELSE.
Deck Tech is the company I hired through Kijiji to refinish my deck. They turned out not to be what they claimed to be. Tyson came gave me an estimate I agreed to proceed. He did up the contract and I gave him the cash deposit. He sent someone incompetent to clean the deck. Came to sand and never finished the work. He made many promises to come and did not. Told me they were having trouble cleaning the deck and that his staff (Paul) did not pressure wash the deck properly. agreed to give me my deposit back then changed his mind. Now he advised me that the deposit I gave him was not a deposit but was to purchase materials. I have not received any materials from Tyson @ tytalbot@gmail.com or decktechnicians@gmail.com. appears to be legit but beware.
