Decorative Concrete

We were looking for a company to give us a acid stained basement floor- Lionsgate Concrete was recommended by a concrete supply shop. After the initial consultation Felix seemed quite knowledgeable, very personable and we felt confident in having them do the work. When the stain was first applied there were a couple - what looks like - stain splashes (were told variations happen with stain). The first coat of epoxy was applied - and while we finished framing and drywalling the basement - a white haze occurred throughout the entire floor - approx 60-70%. We did have an issue with water in one end of the basement - and of course that was cited as the cause - however the white film was everywhere. With some research this seems a common problem when epoxy is applied before concrete is thoroughly dry (they used a great deal more concrete to level our floor than usual). Felix came to have a look - said it wouldn’t be a problem - it will go away after the second - thick coat. It didn’t. Now it was too late to remove the thin coat of white haze (it peeled up quite easily). He offered to try a different finishing - as we were assured we would have a floor to be proud of. Instead he hired someone to airbrush the white out. At first I thought it would be ok - however there are areas which are totally opaque, and the inconsistency in the look of the floor still shows though. Along with this - he did not ensure the floor was 100% clean before he applied the second - and after the airbrushing - third coat of epoxy. There are areas with so much debris within the coating - I’ve had to hide it with rugs and furniture. One area is beginning to form large bubbles where the white is now peeling up underneath the thick epoxy. A couple months ago I had left 6 unreturned messages to have Felix call me (there is a 10 year warranty) to discuss this and other issues including divots that need filling up. So disappointing.
