Action Home Services

I hired Action Home Services to conduct an outdoor renovation project in the front of my home, which included driveway regrading, the installation new interlocking on both our driveway and walkway, the moving of retaining walls and stairs (in addition to building a new set of stairs) -- what I consider to be a fairly large project for your typical semi-detached in East York.

My interactions with John were positive -- he was professional, knowledgeable and responsive (he always returned my calls to answer my questions, which was important). Overall, the price quoted was the price I paid (I did decide to add an additional item during the work, and the additional cost was made clear -- there were no surprises on the invoice), the crew began work when they were scheduled to, and the job was done in the time-frame estimated.

The crew, led by Renat, was fantastic. He runs a tight ship -- the crew was very punctual, hard-working, courteous and polite. They were quick to respond to requests and were equally as courteous when dealing with the neighbours (they cleaned up my neighbours' pathway after a lot of dust that had been generated by cutting stone had made its way on their property). They were quite meticulous with their work -- they clearly were taking the time to do the job properly. Also, they cleaned up the site at the end of each day.

One minor issue was that on the first day, they had asked to store some equipment in my garage. We were fine with that, but realized on the second day one of the crew was cutting stone right beside our open garage door, and dust got everywhere in the garage. This is a particular pain for us, as our garage doubles as our storage shed. After that, I asked them to close the door, while they worked, which they did. However, still dusting off items in the garage weeks later.

Overall, I would highly recommend Action Home Services and Renat and his team. During the work, many neighbours were impressed and came by to ask for their information. I would hire them again.
