As my first experience with movers I truly believed booking Metropolitan Movers would have made our already stressful move, less stressful with their 'countless awards on excellent customer service, their dedication to customer satisfaction and professionalism'. I was VERY wrong in my decision. They sent movers late and did not get my less than 750 square feet condo packed and unloaded to my new condo in time. If you live or ever lived in a condo you know about condos' strict moving times. Which I informed the company beforehand. Their website states that, 'our agents will provide a thorough quote and explain the full moving process from the customer's initial call with full transparency'. I did not receive a follow up customer service call before my move. I had to call and email the company to confirm my own booking. The only confirmation I received was when they charged me full fee for an incomplete move and horrible customer service. I felt I was taken advantage of especially because it was my first time hiring movers. They knew of my time constraint and sent movers late any way. By the time they had moved my furniture onto their truck, there was no time to travel to the new condo and start unloading. They didn't even pack all my boxes onto the truck and I had to step in to help move because I was so worried about the time. I strongly believe the time issue should have been discussed and considered way before the job started. Nope. At this point, I was under the impression they just wanted to send movers so I would have been at least charged the minimum fee of three hours of service. Regardless if they got their job done or not. I ended up renting my own Uhaul and had to wait to move at a later date on my own. They were also going to charge me storage fees because they couldn't move my furniture off their truck and unload to my new condo. It was a nightmare and I DO NOT recommend this company to any one.
