Mr Radon

After a testing kit I bought at a big box hardware store showed significantly high levels of radon in my basement I called Mr. Radon for assistance.

They carefully explained some of the mitigation options and I ended up setting an appointment a few short weeks later to begin mitigation.

As part of the project I also had them replace an ageing sump pump as well as fully seal the sump pit. They also conducted testing and installed a radon mitigation system. Andrew and his assistant were wonderful to deal with. They answered many of my questions and also were very thoughtful about getting my input in terms of where the mitigation fan should be installed and placement within my utility room. they were meticulous in their work and take great pride in explaining how the systems all work together.

The workspace was left clean and tidy after they finished. I am pleased to say that my radon levels are now in the single digits which is significantly lower then prior to remediation. I’ve noticed my basement is drier and in fact the humidity in the house is also much lower.

Radon can be a significant health threat so I would encourage everyone to get their levels tested. You can count on Mr. radon to give you an honest assessment of what’s going on and resolve the issue.

After testing identified a radon level in my basement greater than acceptable guidelines which brings increased health risk I decided to research my options of mitigation and as a result decided to proceed with the Mr Radon Team. All aspects of the process were extremely professional, polite and prompt. I had several requests for the team upon arrival with respect to safety and specific placement of the installed equipment and it's installation around existing mounted shelving. This year we discovered that we had radon in the basement of our home. After researching who to use to help us mitigate this, we found Mr. Radon. From our initial call to them, to the completion of the work, to the retesting of the radon levels, Mr. Radon was outstanding. They were professional, knowledgeable, responsive and reliable. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great company to help them mitigate radon in their home. They gave us peace of mind that our home is now a safer environment to be in.

The radon gas in my home was 210, which is above the accepted levels in Canada. After remediation services, the score is just 11. Mr. Radon services were excellent. Staff were well informed, competent, timely, and friendly. The work was done in half a day, including complete clean up.

I had a long term radon test done in my home and it scored above acceptable levels. I called Mr. Radon and dealt with Maureen and Lynn. Both gave detailed answers to my emails and phone calls prior to hiring them. Their concern and experience in dealing with similar situations put me more at ease. I liked the fact that they laid out the details and never pressured me into making a decision.

After setting a date for the installation, the crew showed up promptly and completed the necessary work. They were very friendly and explained exactly what they were going to do before any work was done. When the job was done, they vacuumed up and left my furnace room very clean. The equipment installed has worked as explained and brought the level of radon in my home to much better levels.

A few months after the installation, my AC finally quit after 22 years. I had questions about the AC and furnace venting in relation to distances needed from the radon fan vent. I sent pictures to Maureen and Lynn and, again, they were very willing to answer all of my questions and even offered to speak to the AC installer if he had any questions.

I sleep better at night not worrying about the radon levels, and I'm very happy with the decision to go with Mr. Radon.

Andrew and team did a great job. He took the time to walk me through the whole process with checks along the way. Everything was installed and cleaned up quickly. The results were also stellar, bring our Radon levels down significantly below Health Canada's guidelines.

It takes skills in finding harmony with the management of noise control, location of installation, health concern, cosmetic effect, in the installation of a radon mitigation system. Thanks a ton for Andrew and Hal, they had done a fantastic job!! Particularly appreciate Andrew's admirable patience in explaining the procedure and terms.
Since the customer may overlook things, we suggest that assessment of the customer's entire property to verify if the mitigation plan looks after all the needs may be necessary.

Andrew and Hal did a great job, taking good care with drop-sheets and vacuumimg up any dust. They were professional, efficient, and explained the process and options as they proceeded. They even helped to move storage boxes out of the way so that their testing and installation work would proceed well. The total job took less than 6 hours to complete, and the final cost was exactly as quoted - so no surprises.

All-in-all, a very good experience, with a feeling of relief that my protection against radon gas was improved.

Bought a house built in 1988 and was replacing the flooring in the basement. With everything removed except concrete thought it would be good time to check for Radon. I bought a Radon meter and discovering alarmingly high levels throughout the house (over 600 bq/m3 in my basement), but also high levels on other levels (even where we were sleeping).
Looked at reviews on-line and decided on Mr. Radon after receiving a quote. They came out quickly and performed the work over 12 hours. They were very accommodating on where the fan and the vent outside was installed. The workmanship was very good including the replacement sump cover. I was fortunate to only require one system to mitigate the Radon gas from underneath both concrete slabs of different
levels.

The end result was very impressive.
My house levels went from 400-620 Bq/m3 to 25-55 Bq/m3.
Fantastic improvement. Highly recommended.
