From our first discussion, Michael attended to our project with great care and attention, while providing many creative ideas to rebuild our collapsing front porch, stairs and balcony railings. We now have gorgeous new pillars and glass railings, plus a beautifully lit cedar ceiling over the porch. Rave reviews from the whole neighbourhood...and they didn't even experience the pleasure of working with Michael and his crew.

We were overall very pleased with Michael's work. He was friendly and kind and was prompt in dealing with concerns. We did need him to come and fix an error which delayed the completion of our porch - but he did so without complaint.
We shared our concerns re:him working only during allowed hours by the city as our neighbourhood is known for calling the city for noise violations. He started one day about 10 minutes before the allowed time which resulted in a noise violation letter from the city for us - which was a frustration. We recognize that other people were working on the street at that time, but, knowing our neighbourhood, wished that he had simply waited the 10 minutes to avoid this.
In the end however, we were so happy with our porch and our kids still ask when we will see him again. Thanks Michael for making the experience such a pleasant one.

Michael Thompson, of Thompson Construction, was one of three contractors I contacted. He was extremely knowledgeable about details of the work to be done, emphasizing the importance of doing the work with the best long term result. He did the work himself with his two employees. He was either on site, or guided them for short periods while away. A lot of the work was accomplished by Michael.

The work related to leakage into a back stair addition of my 100 year old Beach home. It smelled of mildew, was cold, and I could see water damage on the plasterboard.

During the renovation, as predicted, there was damage to the foundation, requiring waterproofing of the basement area, on the outside of the house. Due to dry-rot of the wood, a rebuild of the addition was also extensive.

With each issue, Michael showed me what the concern was, and how it could be solved.

The final result was magnificent, as Michael maintained to beauty of the original woodwork, but with new wood. It is now warm, dry, and mildew free. I did not think it could be done!

The wrought iron fence was installed to such a high level of skill, my neighbour is now asking Michael to continue the fence onto his property. Because my neighbour is in the construction business, and would know a number of good people, I was impressed Michael was asked to do this work. By the way, my neighbour did not know Michael prior to the work.

I recommend Thompson Construction without reservation, and will have him back in the spring for further work.

Michael and his partner did an excellent job in removing old wooden posts and railings on either side of the front outdoor steps and replacing it all with new wooden railings. The job was done in a day and Michael answered any questions I had while at the site then cleaned up beautifully. I found Michael to be very professional and respectful and would hire him again. My only concern was having to wait a few days at times for a response to my emails.

Rarely do you find a quality company like Thompson Construction. Michael and his talented crew did a super job removing and rebuilding our seventy foot backyard privacy fence. They were extremely professional, pleasant and completed the job in a timely and workmanlike manner. In fact, we have already recommended Michael to a friend and would like him to price another job for us. Thank you Thompson Construction!

His expertise and communication made all the difference as we went through a rather large transformation of our outside spaces. Micheal and his team recently re-did our front porch and the results were fantastic.

Construction started and was completed in the contracted timeline. All remnants of the old fence were removed and our yard was left in great shape.
