After deciding to purchase a ductless heat pump system for my place, I asked around for a reference & did my own research. As a rule, I always try my best to support local businesses so I contacted a well known reputable business in Chilliwack to get a quote. I was told that a quote would be sent to me by email by the end of the day. After a few days, I called & had to leave a message for a call back. A few more days went by and still no quote so this time I left a message with the assistant manager, who I had originally spoken to but he never called back either. So, I called & left a message for the owner to call me...and he never did. Eventually, I did receive a quote but had questions. The estimator asked that I call him to discuss my concerns, which I did but once again, I had to leave a message. We're well over a month since my last message and never heard anything else from that business. If I have to fight so hard to give my money to a business, I could only imagine what level of service I would be getting later on.
During that time, I contacted a couple other local businesses but I never got the feeling that they were really interested in my business. So, I continued to look online for the Best business in the area for this type of purchase. Tek Climate kept popping up at the top of the list. I looked up their website, watched a video from the owner Chris about how they're still providing full service during COVID & have added some safety measures to protect his employees & customers. The reviews were exceptional but I normally don't put a lot of weight on reviews on a business website. I decided to give them a call and was very pleased with the information given and decided to book for a quote. By text & email, the appointment was confirmed and was provided with the name of the estimator. I received another text the day of the estimate to remind me of the appointment and later received one from the estimator saying he was en route. Jonathan showed up on time. He was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and provided me with a few possible options. He answered every questions I had and it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about. More importantly, I really had the feeling that he cared and wanted to help me make the right decision. There was no pressure at all even after I told him that I was going to get a few more quotes. Then came the question as to when would I be getting the quote, a week, a month? He emailed me the quote before leaving my place! Wow!!! He made himself available for any more questions, concerns, etc. He made me feel so comfortable that he became my "go to" person for questions. I never felt like I was bothering him even when he knew I may not be giving him the business. The best was that he would always get back to me almost immediately after. Eventually, i explained to him that I had to go for a surgery and would give him an answer one way or the other a few days later. The day of my surgery, i received an email from him asking how I was doing. It made me realize that not only he was really good at his job but was a good human being all together. Because of that, I decided to give Tek Climate my business. I explained to Jonathan that it was not because of the reputation of Tek or the quality of the product I was buying that I had decided to go with him, but because of who he is as a person. Without his genuine goal to help me make the best informed decision possible, and his genuine caring personality, I probably would've chosen a different business.
The whole process of confirming the purchase, making a deposit and schedule Jonathan to come back for the final measurements and scheduling the install, which is only a couple weeks later, has been an awesome experience. Now, I can't wait to have my system installed and I have a really good feeling that my experience will remain very positive.
