Think Cinema

I decided it was time for an upgrade to an old A/V receiver I had had for some time and bought one from a big box store. I went looking for someone to install it and get all the other components to work with it. At the same time, I was looking to upgrade my HDMI cable that went from my cabinet to the TV in the family room.

I made a couple of calls and was almost immediately contacted by Aaron from Think Cinema, who offered to come out and look things over. When he arrived, we discussed my needs and it became obvious that Aaron knew a heck of a lot more than I did. He suggested that I purchase an AV receiver different from the one I had purchased. Also suggested that I go with 8K HDMI cable to future proof my system to some extent. Also suggested a wireless all in one remote that controlled all of my components in addition to installing an Apple TV box. I asked about my rear speakers which weren't providing the surround sound I was expecting. He suggested a good upgrade and also suggested a new subwoofer. He got me a quote for all of these items very quickly and I agreed to proceed.

Once he had all of the equipment, Aaron set up two days to work with things and install them. He had a worker there to help run new cable to my TV in the other room. Because the original cable had been installed at the same time that new cabinetry had been put in, they were unable to fish the cable through the same route, however, they did a good job of finding an alternative. This will require a little extra work on the cabinet, but it was a satisfactory solution to a somewhat difficult problem.

Aaron set everything up, had it all working on one remote and balanced the sound of the system as well as adjusting the TV settings.

I was very comfortable with Aaron and very impressed with his service and excellent advice.

Story Time
We had a store that we knew and worked with a few times over many years install a sound system into our newly renovated family room. It all worked and then we changed providers of internet and tv programming and phone. The system no longer connected. We reached out to the original provider to come help fix to the new provider equipment. They came they saw they left never to be heard from again. I then searched for a new provider.

We would highly recommend Think Cinema's services. We contacted Aaron to mount two TV's for us, one on a masonry fireplace wall and one on drywall. Aaron put a lot of thought into the job ensuring the TVs were not only secure , but also properly centred and level. The man was quite meticulous in his work and left a clean work site when completed. After a quick demonstration on how the mount worked he fine tuned the picture on the TV. The picture honestly never looked better.
We are considering adding a sound bar and will definitely use Aaron's expertise in selecting the right equipment and also mounting to our installation.

The mounting wall in my living room wasnt the standard wall with a mix of concrete and dry-wall- Aaron still took the trouble of coming in multiple times with the right set of tools (the wall was quite unpredictable!!), even when being a weekend and even working around his personal weekend plans.

We contacted Think Cinema for a Control4 consultation about a year ago. It was immediately apparent that Aaron is an expert in audio and video. His focus on identifying our goals, the wealth of experience he brought to the conversation, his respectful and professional demeanour, and his willingness and ability to explain everything convinced us to move forward. 

Since then, we've had Think Cinema design and install a home theatre system, mount two other TVs (including into new cabinetry), run networking through multiple rooms in the house, install Control4 for A/V control and home automation, and connect it all into a networking and A/V rack in our basement. The systems Think Cinema installed are perfect for their rooms - both performing excellently and fitting into our visual aesthetic. We continue to be impressed months after installation!

Aaron also made excellent recommendations for professionals in other trades to do complementary work. He then organized them, coordinated all the site visits, and oversaw their work with his signature attention to detail. This made things easy for us, and we're equally happy with their work.

Aaron has been a pleasure to work with, and the quality of his work has been first-class. Something that stuck out to us is the pride he takes in his work. Would highly recommend Think Cinema! Aaron came in and mounted our 65 inch TV along with two gaming consoles. He was very thorough with his process and suggested the necessary mounts for our TV and sound bar that would fit what we were looking for aesthetically. I looked at other companies but never received the kind of details and questions that Aaron provided.

He also recommended wall mounts for our gaming consoles which ended up looking really great.

Aaron has provided exceptional service & product. We've worked with Aaron over several years. His level of follow-through, reliability, care and product knowledge has been consistently high for the entire period. Aaron has helped with broader home automation, networking, TV+audio installation and cameras. In instances where we've run into obstacles (that are a matter of set-up when the house was built, not Aaron's fault as he wasn't involved), Aaron patiently helps us trouble-shoot and get to a better path. It was very difficult to work with Aron from the beginning. But we had no choice as our money was with him. This is what we found.
He is always busy with his other customers and he has no time for you.
He is doing the project not with sound knowledge but with experimenting, trial and error sort of.
He said it would be OK for the electronic equipment to stay on the drive way because it is packed. (The packing said it should be protected from sun and rain.
He didn't place covers on the speakers. When asked, he texted saying I should do it myself.
He doesn't think that he should consult the home owner before placing sensor and such items.

It was a specific task for help to route some HDMI and CAT6 wiring behind some cabinets & brick work. I almost gave up hope then Think Cinema offered to help. In a couple of sessions, managed to get the wires passed. Also advised on some future-proofing areas for hardware which I appreciated. Will likely use them again when the time comes for any newer, more sophisticated upgrade needs. Recommend.
