Small Bathroom Renovation high cost, low satisfaction

Cost of renovation: 7k cash NOT including: The vanity, sink , mirror, faucets, and all fixtures.

My main reason for renovating my bathroom was I wanted a nice deep tub. I explained this to scott who suggested a tub for me. Little did I know that it was a cheap tub -quality included. The tub I had was ceramic and significantly better than the new tub, moreover, although the tub is technically deeper, because of where the over flow drain is located in the tub I cant put anymore water in it. The main purpose for my renovation.

When the bathroom was done, I immediately noticed the paint job was sloppy, paint drips all over, the ceiling only had one coat, the door and the door trim were left undone (He did paint the door and trim when I complained but he would not fix the poor paint job saying it was like that before- seriously?!!!).

The tub was left squeaking and moving which caused the grout to crack between the tub and the tile. After complaining, scott came back to fix it by putting spray foam under the tub. This helped the noise, however the tub still has issues as when I have a shower, the water pools at the drain, an issue I never had. Two days after the caulking was re-done, it started cracking again, no this doesn’t effect the use, but it looks like crap.

The transition between the hardwood and tile was cut poorly and looks sloppy. I had just had my hardwood done, so to have it sliced up like that felt brutal.

The tile in the bathtub isint flush on the wall, and you can see the few places he made mistakes as it comes out a little. Lastly, he suggested buying a curved bathroom curtain so it gave me more room inside the tub. This would have been true, except it was installed so far into the tub, it doesn’t provide any extra room.

I am disappointed in this entire renovation, the price for the size of the bathroom would have been acceptable if it was quality work, but its far from it. I would not recommend this company and anyone who saw my bathroom ripped it to shreds, which is so maddening when you pay 7k.

The reason I rated 2 star and not zero as he did come back to try and rectify some of the poor work.

Small Bathroom Renovation high cost, low satisfaction

Cost of renovation: 7k cash NOT including: The vanity, sink , mirror, faucets, and all fixtures. I would have liked to include more photos but it wouldn't let me attach them, photos of the paint drips, the unsightly gap between the tile and tub, protruding tiles, visible patch work not covered properly, and jagged cuts in the hardwood to fit the transition piece.

My main reason for renovating my bathroom was I wanted a nice deep tub. I explained this to scott who suggested a tub for me. Little did I know that it was likely the cheapest tub out there, which I NEVER would have accepted had I known what bad quality it was. The tub I had was ceramic and way better than the new tub, moreover, although the tub is technically deeper, because of where the over flow drain is located in the tub I cant put anymore water in it. The main purpose for my renovation, and the contractor did not even bother listening to my needs and instead picked cheap over quality.

When the bathroom was done, I immediately noticed the paint job was horrendous, paint drips all over, the ceiling only had one coat, the door and the door trim were left undone (He did paint the door and trim when I complained but he would not fix the poor paint job saying it was like that before- seriously?!!!).

This helped the noise, however the tub still has issues as when I have a shower, the water pools at the drain (I was not told this bathtub had a built in plug- this causes water to pool) Two days after the caulking was re-done, it started cracking again, no this doesn’t effect the use, but it looks like crap.

The transition between the hardwood and tile looks bad, it was cut poorly and looks sloppy. I had just had my hardwood done, so to have it sliced up, was brutal.

I am disappointed in this entire renovation, the price for the size of the bathroom would have been acceptable if it was quality work, but its far from it. I would not recommend this company and I am highly considering small claims court as I will need to have many of these issues fixed to have it looking like a newly renovated bathroom.

The reason I rated 1 star and not zero as he did come back to try and rectify some of the poor work.
