We had our home for sale and received an offer with the condition of a home inspection.
A few weeks before the offer to purchase, while doing some wiring within our attic I noticed some black stuff on the underside of the roof’s plywood, which was dry and flaking. I wondered if it was some sort of mold. Considering the upcoming home inspection, we called a mold testing company and was asked to submit pictures. I was told that it was a very good possibility that it could be dormant mold – if left as it is, it would not create an air quality concern, but if exposed to humidity and a rise in temperature it could re-activate. The man recommended that we should remove it to be on the safe side.
I searched the Homestars website and after some inquiries, we decided to call Mold Solutions Canada.
Alan inspected the attic and confirmed that the mold was dormant and its removal was recommended. We were provided with a quote reflecting a very reasonable price for the remediation of the mold. We asked if he could do the job the next day, as we expected a home inspection within two or three days. Alan came in the following morning, and by the afternoon, our attic was clean. The home inspector came in and there was no concern over mold. Our home is now SOLD!

Had a mold issue under my kitchen sink, and a pipe that was leaking. Hired Mold solutions Canada to take care of the issue. They were very professional in the removal of all of the exisiting mold and fixed the leaking pipe all for a very fair and Reasonable price!

Two years I had a Mold company remediate Mold in my attic and they sprayed some Benefect and ran some Mold fogger from a lower room. I paid around $1,500 for this. But I guess the issue causing the Mold in the first place such as low attic insulation and poor ventilation was not remediated so the Mold came back.

I reached out to a few companies recently and a lot of them quoted me ~2K for remediating the Mold section of my roof - 15 ft x 20 ft with benefect and mentioned about fogging again and so on.. however Alan quoted me a lower rate (less than half) and opted a different option - spraying concrobium pro and also came back a second time to focus on some heavily soiled areas and brushed the Mold out. He also steamed the affected area once clean, with Benefect.
If you look at the pics you will notice that 90-95% of the stains have been removed, and the more important part the Mold is dead. I did a lot of research and in my opinion this is a fair method of managing Mold remediation.
