Sunset Homes

We bought a 25’ lot and met with Sunset to start the design and permits process. We went through a couple of interactions in the design until we were happy with the whole design, especially the exterior and main floor layout. We have a 14’ ceiling in the main floor which makes a huge difference in how the space feels, since we are in such a narrow lot.

We are glad to have built our custom home with Sunset, Pedro was really straightforward and open with the costs since day one.

It has been over a year since we moved to our home (Jan 2019) and now that we are fully established we can say that Sunset and Pedro understood our vision and delivered the home we wanted.

From this experience we learned that the process can feel confusing and complicated, but Pedro and Nella were always there to guide us. The team is very open and tries to provide good recommendations so the process gets more comfortable. Our home was built on time, and we were able to track our budget during the process, so that kept us reassured.

From the very beginning Pedro provided us with tons of information to build our single home and to plan for our future family as well. We highly recommend building with Sunset Homes.

Our project was really particular since we wanted to keep the current foundation of the bungalow we bought and build a two storey home on top of it. Sunset Homes came with the perfect design for us and took over the demolition of the framed portion and started the new construction from there.

We have been living in our new custom home for over a year now. The team is still in contact with us, they send us reminders for our home maintenance, and seasonal reminders. It is a good thing to feel close to them. We strongly recommend Sunset Homes.

We were moving from Ontario and very high in my selection criteria was a builder able to manage the project while we were still living in ON, and making sure our possession date wouldn't change.

Also one big item for us to sign with Pedro was having budget transparency at all times, he showed me how he usually achieved that and made me more confident on the entire project.

Sunset had an excellent handle on the items that were of most importance to us like the envelope and insulation in general. They did a couple blower door tests which helped us get the built green certification. Now I’m confident that our utilities bills will be pretty low.

We are so happy with these guys. Sunset Homes was really easy to work with. We owned a bungalow for over 15 years and started talking to Sunset to see options to either have an addition or re-build. After a couple costs analysis meetings with Pedro, we decided on a new build. The design stage was a lot of fun, especially working on our selections with the interior design team.

It was cool to see the construction take form in front of our eyes so quickly. We are really happy with how the spaces flow, really useful areas. Thanks!

We built with Sunset Homes a few years ago, and have been holding on a review just enough to see how the warranty process worked. We are really satisfied, so here is our review:

Sunset was involved in the land search, design, interior design and construction. We were hooked by the transparency of the management team. They are really straight forward and will tell you what is included in their cost, which is an issue we were having with another builder we were chatting with, we had no confidence in their numbers, whereas with Sunset we could see where they were coming from.

We designed a prairie style home on the exterior and a really open concept and modern on the inside. Sunset’s trades are really good to deal with, really understood our vision.

We are pretty happy with how it all turned out, and how they still keep in touch with us.
