Irresponsible and Misrepresenting about the job.
You can expect a cheap labor job, however don't expect service.
I would pay a little bit more to get the whole system properly installed and instructed.

Hi, Gary ,we offer very reliable softener and you want to save a little money, get your own softener. you hired us just for installation. We installed very professional and nice Labour. Gary please Keep in mind, you need respoensful your own system 's working performance, not us. good luck.
