Mehri (Sabat Construction) was exceptional and she not only helped with a timely and accurate design, she also followed up regularly with the authorities for the permit. Further, she went over and beyond her contractual scope to help me out with an outstanding query raised by the town. I will be happy to recommend her to anyone for their permit/architect needs.

After reading all these great reviews, I chose Sabat to do the architectural plans and permit applications for a rather large reno project. Initially we were quite impressed. Our contact Mehri was prompt, responded to all inquiries and even forwarded emails from the city to show us what progress was being made. We paid 50% of their total fee upfront (so about $2400 as the deposit), and were told to wait while the city reviewed the application. We were told there would be significant delays due to COVID, which is totally understandable. However, I have emails and texts confirming the applications were submitted in April of 2021. It's now been a FULL YEAR and I've heard nothing from Sabat. I would periodically message Mehri to check on the progress, and she would initially tell me the same thing every time "they're backlogged and moving slowly, just wait."
Eventually Mehri stopped replying to my texts, does not answer the phone when I call, and has not returned any of my many voicemails. I've tried calling Sabat's main office number, but there are only 2 options given by the automated answering system: talk to the construction manager, or the architectural manager. And when I choose architectural, guess whose voice inbox in takes you to? Yup. Mehri. Who still doesn't answer the phone. I've left messages for the construction manager too, in an attempt to get Mehri to talk to me, but have still heard nothing back.
So, short version, I've paid them $2400 for architectural plans and city permits, and a year later, still have neither. And now they won't talk to me or be held accountable. Please save yourself the time, money and stress, and DO NOT CHOOSE SABAT if you actually expect them to deliver.

We hired Sabat for our basement apartment and separate entrance drawings/approval from the city back in May 2021. They are very kind and approachable with questions and advice.

THIS IS A MIDWAY REVIEW: because our file is still pending at the city for approval (Mehri has been in contact with the city of Oshawa for over 6 months now and they told her that due to Covid delays, city has been behind in approvals). hopefully it doesn't take much longer because we didn't think approval would go past 2-3 month mark when we originally planned to take on this project and hired Sabat Architect Inc. I will write a full detailed review for Sabat and their services when all the work is completed.

So far they have been amazing to work with and at replying to emails/messages when I ask for approval updates from the city. I did recommended them to two of my clients back in July and August of 2021.

One of the best experiences in having Sabat work on our bathroom renovations! They are VERY clean, demonstrated utmost professionalism, and deliver a top quality product. You can really tell they care about their work, and go above & beyond expectations of having renovations completed.

Max did what he said he would do when he said he would do it. The repair is well done and thorough - he is very knowledgeable and did a proper job to last. He explained everything he was doing. We did not explicitly discuss the increase in price to the quote which is the only reason I didn’t give full stars. Strongly recommend Max.
