Blue Basin Landscapes

Bluebasin Landscapes transformed our front yard from an overgrown mess of bushes to a showcase! By adding custom stone stairs(with accent lighting!), a raised bed with a retaining wall, new sod, and artistically designed flower beds along the edge of the house, our entire property has been given a polished look.

It was a pleasure to work with K-Dell and his professional team to create this fantastic blend of function and beauty. K-Dell made several excellent suggestions that improved on the original design immensely. We have had nothing but compliments from both neighbours and strangers. We are so happy with our new yard and would recommend Bluebasin Landscapes without hesitation.

K-Dell the owner of Blue Basin Landscapes provided me with a quote for doing a small portion of my backyard in the amount of $5,600. He required a deposit immediately in order to pay for materials and set a date to get started. He was going to provide me with an invoice (which I never received). I paid a hefty deposit of $2,700 as a downpayment for this service for a small backyard renovation. K-Dell made empty promises. I have never received an invoice which I have asked for countless times. Over the course of two months he said he would be showing up the next day but never showed up, and never communicated with us to say why. Finally, in the middle of June he showed up unannounced after I left several text messages and voice mails stating my displeasure at his inability to respond - he showed me a piece of paper - his finger was over the "to" an said the stone would not be there until July 15th, which I understood, given our challenging times, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt that this was true and again asked for an invoice. He said he would send it to me. That date came and went so I reached out to him to find out what happened. I left several voice mails and texts again to which he never answered. Finally I got ahold of him and on two occasions after countless hounding, he said he was coming the following day. Again he never showed up. Again, I left K-Dell several voice and text messages to say I wanted a copy of the an invoice and I would pay for what they did, but again, he never complied. The project was never completed. He is unreliable and makes promises he cannot keep. I found out who his supplier was and contacted them only to find out that my stone was in, however K-Dell never acknowledged that. I then shared with the supplier what he had done and not to recommend him to anyone. K-Dell promptly phoned me later that day and promised to come around the next day to finish the job. He said it would only take a day. Well, we know how that went. I left him a voice mail and text message to ask him to please refund the balance owed as I no longer wished to used his services. He has to date never refunded the money or even called or showed up. I would highly recommend not to use him. I have not been able to use that area for the entire summer because of him. The flagstone was removed and limestone which was very messy was put down, with the intention of installing the stone the next day, which has not happened now for months!! It is now October and this has been going on since the beginning of June!!. K-Dell is anything but honest and reliable. I just hope he is not doing this to other people because it is our hard earned money that he is taking and if he is trying to make a name for himself in the Landscaping business he is certainly not doing himself any favours. STAY AWAY from this guy.

Kdell started off well and then never completed job. He used the wrong nails in my cedar fence and now it's full of black dots in the middle of all my fence boards. He said he was going to come back and fix and provided me with a contract if I paid some of what I was owing so he could pay his guys he would come back. Never heard from him again he never accepted my calls, blocked me from his IG account. I recommended him to a neighbour before all this happened and he did a poor job there as well. He does not really know what he is doing and hires workers from kijjii to finish his jobs b/c his own workers just don't show up. He tries to fix the mistake by cleaning off the black spots that were bleeding through the wood but only ruined the look of the boards more with spots were the nails are.
It took him from October until March to complete two sides of a fence. I do not recommend this company with his poor time management and craftsmanship.

As with many Etobicoke homes I did not have side gates. I desperately needed to have two cedar gates installed - before the winter arrived. I put out a request for service here on Homestars and Kdell @ Blue Basin Landscape was quick to respond to my last-minute, end-of-season request.

He was prompt, courteous and had thorough answers to my MANY questions. Kdell also worked with me to install a new, adjacent, 12-foot long storage shed pad (originally planned to do 6) that would match both my existing pavers and a future upgrade that I have planned.

Kdell and his team cleanly and swiftly installed both the cedar fence gates and pad. They were very quiet, clean and polite while on-site -- and got the job done professionally. Their iterative approach ensured that I was able to make some changes on the fly including installing an electrical cable by-pass from the house as well as some design adjustments.

I have plans to work with this crew to upgrade my patio pavers and replace the rest of my fence when the time comes.
