Hinged glass shower door

They promptly arrived at the scheduled time. I already have an existing glass shower wall but only covered half of the shower area which always end up having water splashed on the floor and uncovered area. Their job was to install a hinged glass door so the shower area will be completely covered and avoid water splashes. They did the job effectively and professionally. Only thing I'd recommend is that they should clean up the drilled area after the job was finished. Otherwise, quite satisfied with their work.

Shower door (leak + non functional + green glass)

We called Jamil for a sliding door and he told us a panel door would be better in terms of durability. We agreed to switch to a panel door. We asked if he could give us a towel bar and he did, only the panel door would now only open 75%. We trusted his expertise and the reviews but he didnt guide us and instead told us, it was on us. All he tried to discuss was about how no matter what we decided, we had to pay him the money we committed to. Finally, weve ended up with a shower door with 2 holes to keep up with the functionality. He has agreed to pay 20 bucks for a door knob should we decide to go ahead and buy it from the store he buys from.

The clear glass we asked for has a tinch of green too. Disappointed overall.

Update - there is also a leak from the shower door and Jamil has refused to fix it without taking down the review though its his fault and there is warranty.
We also got another door fixed - the door handle is off centre for god knows what reason and hes cut corners by using the black panel only on one side.

Screenshots attached.

Glass Railing

Toha Glass was great to work with. I started off with them doing an installation for the shower in my master bedroom. After I saw the quality of their work, their dedication, and promptness, they worked on a glass railing in my home. Would definitely recommend to others.

Shower Glass Replacement - Do not hire if you're a woman

Toha was very responsive and easy to work with in the beginning of the project. However the installation had some issues that left me unhappy in the end, and I felt that they were trying to take advantage of me as a woman not know I'm an engineer who's worked 2 decades in construction.

When removing the old door, they cracked a tile which is completely understandable and I was not upset about, but they were dishonest with me and told me it was already cracked.

The old door left several holes in the tub and tile that they did not patch.

Part of their scope was to recaulk the tub, but instead of removing the old white caulk, they just caulked over it with clear caulk! I was flabbergasted. When I asked about it they told it told me it was standard practice to cover existing caulk with clear silicone (again, dishonest). They did remove the charge from my bill though.

They also left the tub and new glass filthy, I understand it can't get wet for 24 hours but there was no effort to clean up after their work. They also left tile dust all over the bathroom floor as well.

Overall I was not happy with the installation and because of that I can't confidently recommend them.

Company Response

Hi Jamie, we apologise if we were not able to meet your requirements. We would like to clarify a couple things, but understand where your concerns are coming from.

As we had mentioned on the site, the crack was from the previous installation. The crack had emerged from a screw in the tiling which was carefully covered up and hidden by a clip. Once we had removed the clip, we had informed you of it.

There were other issues in regards to tiling which we cannot account for as it is not part of our practice. The holes were from plugs used in the previous installation. To ensure a full and seamless coverage, a professional tiler had to have been hired to deal with the issue in their field of work. For this reason, we always ask clients to ensure they are satisfied with their tiling before we begin our installation. We are sure you understand where we are coming from considering your experience in this industry. Since the issues were not professionally dealt with, we patched it up with the resources we have as glaziers.

In regards to the caulking, we had already spoken of it and clarified that there was no issue with the previous caulk hence why we simply went over it with a clear caulk. Had you mentioned that it was such a significant issue, we would have dealt with it rather than simply removing the charge off the final bill.

As for our cleanliness, we ensure to clean up as much as we can with the given time and the inability to use water. We of course do not claim that we left your bathroom spotless, but did clean up enough considering we are glaziers and not a home maintenance service. Additionally, we disposed of all the glass from the previous installation which is not a part of our services, but rather a courtesy.

Our company is family run with women constantly overseeing and coordinating work, and ensuring client satisfaction. We are extremely sorry if during your experience you felt singled out as a woman and would of course love to get in touch to discuss any more concerns and how you would like to go forth with this.

Thank you,

Toha Glass and Railings
