Douglas replaced the stair nosing and added hand railings. He does nice work but seems to have some time management issues, He seemed rushed at the end of the project missing staining parts of the backside of the railings. Absolutely appalled by the unprofessionalism at Assiniboine. I was promised expert design support and project management — instead, I was left to figure everything out myself after paying a 50% deposit. The project manager admitted he wasn’t a designer, made inappropriate comments about my yard, and showed no regard for my health situation. My formal complaint was ignored, and they had the audacity to schedule an appointment without my consent. This company completely failed to deliver what they sold me. I have completed over 18 years of work in all types of home renovations from small tasks (i.e., fixing sinks, or electrical plug malfunction) to full demo and completion of: kitchen, bathroom, roofing, flooring, decks, garage (minus the cement pad) including electrical. finishing work inclusive of doors, windows including full trim. I have totally demoed 2 houses and rebuilt from the studs up to and including all electrical, plumbing, and finishing to turn key ready. In the last three years, upon joining Homestars, we have honed our craft and specialize in bathrooms. We are so honored to have just won Best of the Best Award! Thanks to all of the people who have had us in to their home to complete their projects!
I hired Don for a small kitchen drywall and tile job. From the start, he was friendly, kind, and professional. It’s clear that he loves what he does and puts his heart into his work. He stayed true to his word throughout the entire project. He cleaned after himself leaving no garbage behind. When high humidity delayed the grout work, Don didn’t rush to finish. Instead, he returned the next day to complete the job properly—with a grout choice that was perfect. He maintained a cheerful and positive attitude the whole time. From the moment I heard his soft, kind, and friendly voice over the phine, I knew we’d get along well - and I was right. I’ll definitely hire him again. Thank you Don!

We had just moved into our house and within a month the kitchen sink was clogged. Whenever we would just run water down, after 1-2 minutes, the water would back up from the drains into the sink basin. Same thing would happen if we used the dishwasher. No amount of Drano would do the trick. Ducky's Drains was super quick and responsive to our service request and came by less than 24 hours later to take a look and get them fixed. They cleared out a bunch of grease, debris and plastic straws (??) left by the former resident.
