We recently completed a major renovation project with Addison Construction in the Beaches, and the experience was nothing short of outstanding. We worked with the team over a period of 8 months and engaged them to renovate a three-story duplex, which included updating two existing units that were in decrepit shape and creating an entirely new unit, transforming the property into a stunning triplex. One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the underpinning, and we leaned on Addison for their expertise and trusted them to undertake this challenge for their In-house underpinning team. This meant that everythingfrom the foundation work to the final detailswas managed by their skilled professionals, giving us peace of mind throughout the entire process. Throughout the renovation, the team was highly responsive and always kept us updated on progress. I did an extensive review of contractors on Homestars who specialized in the supply and installation of tankless water heaters. There were many impressive options to choose from but I eventually settle on MMS Heating & Cooling. The glowing reviews and the impression I got from my initial interaction with Matt was the deciding factor. The quote I received from him was reasonable and competitive. He came across as professional, knowledgeable, responsive , accommodating and courteous. They arrived punctually to start the work as per our agreement and did an outstanding job. They completed the job on time exactly as Matt had indicated they would. The water heater was professionally and neatly installed without any issues or problems. A year and a half ago, Val helped me replace the shades in my condo. I had the typical condo perforated shades, which let in a lot of natural light. Working from home, I found the natural light very distracting. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, just that it should block most of the natural light and have a modern aesthetic. Val provided a solution that used a dual motorized roller, with channels and drapes to block light at the edges. One shade was opaque, to block light, and a second shade was translucent, to allow natural light to illuminate the room. Since then, I’ve really appreciated how much the new shades enhance the space. I adjust them daily using the remote control or the mobile app to set the right amount of light. If I want a calm, dim room, I can fully lower the opaque shades. If I want to light up the space, I can raise the opaque shades and lower the translucent shades. If I want to step out onto the balcony, I can raise both shades. Thanks Val!

I’m very happy with the final installation; the fixture looks great and the second technician was very capable. However, the billing and business practices were highly unprofessional and felt predatory. I provided a detailed job posting with 7 technical photos showing my 12ft loft ceilings, timber beams, and exposed pipe work. Despite having this visual data in advance, the primary contractor arrived lacking the correct materials and the dimmer we had agreed to. He struggled with the layout and had to call in a second worker, openly admitting it was because the job involved pipe work which was explicitly detailed in my original post. I also had to actively remind him to install the bathroom dimmer we had explicitly agreed to over the phone. Worst of all, the final invoice charged for 11 hours of labor. I tracked their time closely: the primary technician was onsite for 3 hours (11am–2pm) and the second for 3 hours (1pm–4pm). They billed 11 hours for 6 man-hours of actual work.
