OAK&CROWN is a Landscape Design company rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, and a deep respect for the natural world. We design outdoor spaces that feel intentional and enduring—places where beauty, function, and nature come together to create landscapes that grow with time. OUR APPROACH: At OAK&CROWN our approach combines creativity, expertise, and a deep respect for nature. We focus on designing and building landscapes that are not only visually stunning but also sustainable and tailored to each client’s space and lifestyle. By carefully selecting healthy, locally sourced plants and using thoughtful techniques, we create outdoor spaces that thrive, evolve, and bring lasting enjoyment year after year. OUR VALUES: At OAK&CROWN, our values guide everything we do. We believe in quality, integrity, and sustainability, bringing care and attention to every plant, tree, and design choice. We are committed to using locally sourced, healthy materials, respecting the environment, and creating landscapes that not only look beautiful but thrive for years to come. Above all, we value honesty, clear communication, and building strong relationships with our clients, ensuring every project reflects both their vision and our standard of excellence. OUR STORY: Daniel’s journey is shaped by both heritage and passion. His grandfather founded a general contracting company in 1977 in Toronto, which ran until his passing in 2012. Inspired by his dedication to craftsmanship, his work with his grandfather, and by his mother’s love for their cultural heritage, Daniel pursued his own path completing two bachelor’s degrees in Classical Studies and Anthropology, followed by a master’s in Archaeology. During his studies, he gained hands-on experience as a horticulturalist at the Toronto Zoo and as a landscape technician at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. Today, he balances his work at OAK&CROWN alongside his role as a professor at two colleges and as an ancient Greek archaeologist, bringing a unique blend of historical knowledge, scientific rigor, and practical expertise to every garden and landscape project. SERVICES: LANDSCAPE DESIGN: OAK&CROWN transforms outdoor spaces through bespoke landscape design, turning visions into living breathing environments. Our approach combines creativity and precision to craft gardens that are impressive and functional, where every detail enhances the natural beauty of your property. HEDGING: OAK&CROWN specializes in precise hedging that shapes and defines outdoor spaces with style and structure. Whether for privacy, boundaries, or decorative appeal, our hedging brings form, texture, and refinement to every landscape. TREE CARE&REMOVAL: OAK&CROWN is dedicated to expert tree care, helping every tree in your landscape thrive and reach its full potential. From health assessments, pruning, and on going maintenance, we combine knowledge, skill, and attention to detail to preserve the beauty, strength, and longevity of your trees. OAK&CROWN also provides safe and professional tree removal with respect for both your property and the surrounding landscape. When a tree must be removed, we do so with precision and care. PROPERTY MAINTENANCE (Residential&Commercial): OAK&CROWN delivers dependable property maintenance for both residential and commercial spaces, keeping landscapes polished, healthy, and inviting year-round. With a focus on detail, consistency, and care, we ensure every property reflects professionalism, pride, and lasting curb appeal. CARPENTRY: OAK&CROWN crafts garden carpentry that brings warmth and structure to outdoor spaces. From hand-built planters and benches to timeless pergolas, our woodworking blends function with artistry, creating enduring features that invite rest, gathering, and connection within the landscape. WORKSHOPS: OAK&CROWN hosts hands-on plant workshops designed to educate, inspire, and connect people with nature. Through guided learning and practical experience, we share the art of planting, care, and cultivation, empowering clients to grow with confidence and creativity. ROOTS OF REMEMBRANCE: OAK&CROWN's Roots of Remembrance honors loved ones through thoughtfully designed, custom gardens placed at their headstones. We create and plant a meaningful garden tailored to reflect remembrance, care, and lasting beauty. Each garden is designed with intention, offering families a living tribute that grows, blooms, and keeps their memory present through the seasons.
