Drop ceiling replacement.
Ashley 15/10/2026 - 11:21 AM
Hello, I have a horrible drop ceiling throughout my entire house that I just bought. I don’t like it at all lol. However, I had a wall removed between my living room and dinning room and a beam had to be installed at the ceiling. It is a 8” board at the ceiling between the 2 rooms. It is also about 2” below the drop ceiling. I’d like it all flesh and I’m looking to figure out what my best options are, as I didn’t even think of this when I removed the wall. Any help would be appreciated.

Can I install a new patio over an existing one?
Anonymous user 13/10/2026 - 2:24 PM
Hi, I'm hoping to get some advice. I have a patio in my backyard that's about 2m by 3.5m, sitting on a base of mortar and compacted sand. It's in pretty good shape, with no cracks or shifting. I'm thinking about raising it a bit and possibly expanding it to 5m by 5m. Someone suggested that I could just add 100mm of crushed stone over the current patio. Does this sound like a good idea? Apologies if I'm missing something here—I’m not quite sure what I'm doing.
