We had an huge puddle in our basement the day I contacted these guys. Edgar was incredibly knowledgeable and the team worked incredibly hard. The guys arrived early, dug quickly and so cheerfully and added the waterproofing stuff to the outside of the walls. They did an amazing job and our basement is now free of water.

We first called Fairney and Sons in April, 2024 regarding a small flood at the front of our basement. Bill arrived very promptly and gave us his verdict on the probable cause. We have had a fair amount of work done to address this issue a few years ago, but were never really satisfied with the company that we used. After some extensive discussion and consultation, we decided to go along with Bill's recommendations. The work was completed within a matter of a few days. The tradesmen were always on time, careful about clean up, polite and friendly. We were more than satisfied and went ahead with plans to renovate our bathroom sometime in November, using Fairney and Sons people. In July we found that we had more water in our basement. But this time at the back of the house, again in an area that had supposedly been sealed by the same, unnamed company that we had the misfortune to use before. We called Bill and he arrived promptly and arranged for work to proceed to solve this new issue. Unfortunately, our wooden deck had to be removed in order for the work to be completed on the back wall. Fairney and Sons came through with an excellent team of tradesmen and build us a lovely new deck as well as finally solving our basement water problems. In August we were faced with another water issue. Our bathroom began leaking water into our kitchen which we had renovated a few years ago at some considerable cost. Needless to say, we called Bill back and asked if he might move our bathroom renovation forward. He rearranged some of his work teams schedules and had a crew in by early October. We worked closely with Adam and Trevor as they guided us through the various stages of the transformation. Plumbers and tilers came by, all when they were scheduled to arrive. The work was completed efficiently and expertly. Everybody that we met that was associated with Fairney and Sons was very professional, respectful and a delight to have in our house. As part of the bathroom renovation, a vent had to be hooked up through our roof. Upon inspection it was pointed out that our chimney was in sore need of repair. We already knew about this and asked if Fairney and Sons could solve that problem as well, which, of course they could and did. This had been a bad summer for us, in terms of household distress. However, we feel very fortunate that we answered that flyer that was dropped in our mailbox all those months ago. Everybody associated with this company is reliable, friendly and professional. We certainly hope that we don't need their services in the future, but if we do, they will get the call. We highly recommend Fairney and Sons Ltd. for all of your home repair needs. We purchased our home 5 years ago which had a finished basement with ceilings at a max height of 6'. We knew that we wanted to underpin and had several companies offer quotes, but we weren't comfortable with any of them until we had Daniel from True North come by to assess the property and offer a quote. Daniel was there for over an hour during his initial visit and took the time to explain the process to us, offer ideas, and point out where we may encounter issues during the process. He was incredibly thorough and personable which made us feel at ease. The quote he provided was not the lowest, but it was very detailed and included considerations for issues that sometimes come up during the underpinning process and estimates for what it may cost if we ran into those issues. The work was slightly delayed as we had to jump through an extra hoop with the city due to our property being on ravine land but once we got the permit from the city, Daniel's team was able to start work almost immediately. From day 1 the team was professional, responsible and courteous. They were on time every single day, and were kind to our young kids and our somewhat anxious dog. We were nervous about the process, but it became clear quickly that the team were experts in what they do, and they were always happy to have us come downstairs and explain what they were doing. Our house is >100 years old so we anticipated running into issues during the process, but in the end the only unforeseen issue was related to lead water pipes which were quickly identified and replaced by the team. The anticipated timeline for the project was 4-6 weeks and they finished in exactly 4 weeks. A professional and hard-working team, A+ customer service, work completed on budget and ahead of schedule. I don't know why you'd look anywhere else if you're planning an underpinning project!

For the 3rd time in 2 years, Luke and Max did an absolutley FANTASTIC Job! This time they rebuilt our front Porch and stairs! As in the past, the price they quoted was fair, they did a first rate job, started and finished ON TIME, cleaned up afterwards and everthing was done just as we wanted! I cannot say enough good things about this company. Professional business people who really CARE about you and making sure you are happy. I would give them 20 stars if I could, highly recommended!!!!!

I had Basement Systems Vancouver do a complete encapsulation of my dirt crawl. They removed all debris, levelled any high spots, and even cleared out a lot of the dead spiders and cobwebs from the floor joists. All work completed was exactly as advertised and no extra charges on the quoted invoice. I would recommend to anyone dealing with a damp and dirty crawl space. There is no more smell when opening the access hatch and my floors are warmer with substantially less heat loss.

We are thrilled with the deck restoration work done on the backyard deck by Alma and Ilir. They arrived on time and immediately got to work with a thorough power washing that stripped away years of built-up grime, algae, and weathering. Once it dried, they meticulously sanded the entire surface, smoothing out rough boards and splintered edges. The finishing touch was a beautifully applied oil-based semi-solid stain that brought the wood back to life. The coverage was even, the color is rich and vibrant, and you can tell the oil-based formula really soaked deep into the wood grain for long-lasting protection. The deck looks better than it did when it was first built. Alma and Illir are professional, courteous, and left the yard completely clean when they wrapped up. Don’t hesitate to hire them for your next job!

A toilet in our house came away from the floor in a way that broke the flange it was bolted to. I called MT Drains because they had done a fine repair job in our kitchen a few months earlier. Viktoriya in the office was very friendly & helpful in getting us a cost estimate in a timely fashion and setting up an appointment to fix the problem that fit our schedules. We received email confirmation and reminder of the appointment, and a text confirmation on the morning of the appointment itself. The technician, Amir, arrived a few minutes before the start of the window for the appointment, which I always appreciate a lot! He was friendly, polite and professional. He assessed the repair requirements, confirmed the estimate, and completed the job in a timely manner. Amir also cleaned up everything and even took the garbage away with him. Viktoriya followed up shortly thereafter by phone to check that we were pleased with the job, and then sent the invoice to me for the agreed amount. She also confirmed that they received our payment right away. Ive used MT Drains services for plumbing issues before and will happily use them again!
