Question 1

What types of renovations are typically allowed in a Eastern Passage condo unit?

Accepted Answer

In Eastern Passage, most cosmetic updates such as painting, flooring, and fixture replacements are generally permitted without board approval, though policies vary by building.

Structural changes, plumbing relocations, and anything affecting shared systems or common elements will almost always require formal approval and may have restrictions or additional conditions attached.

Question 2

How long does a condo renovation usually take in Eastern Passage?

Accepted Answer

Timelines vary widely depending on the scope of the project and also depend on where specifically your condo is in Eastern Passage. A bathroom refresh typically takes one to two weeks, while a full kitchen or multi-room remodel runs four to eight weeks or more.

Building access logistics, elevator booking requirements, and permit processing can all add time to a condo renovation compared to a similar project in a house.

Question 3

Do I need approval from my condo board before starting a renovation in Eastern Passage?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, yes. Most condo corporations in Eastern Passage require owners to submit a renovation request and receive written approval before any work begins. Your board may also require proof of contractor insurance, a deposit against potential damage to common areas, and a review of your renovation plans.

Question 4
