We knew Hernani and his dad for a while and had been looking at getting a driveway built by them. We had seen their work on their own driveway and it looked great. Based on that trust, we decided to get our own built by then. Its a very big 3 car driveway. The job started off in a timely manner, however the finishing is not what we expected. Our driveway had depressions where water started accumulating. There were also lots of holes where water started filling up. They made attempts to rectify the work, buts its not fixable. We later found out they had contracted out the entire driveway to another company while we were under the impression we were hiring them to do it. We just looked at the driveway midwinter and it looks like this driveway wont last for more than 2 seasons, we feel completely ripped off. Unfortunately I would not recommend them for driveway projects. At the end, we feel like we paid for low quality work whereas multiple neighbors in our area for beautiful driveways built for way less.

They did a decent job of stamped and aggregate concrete for my lawn and backyard. But disappointed with their after work customer service and response. Few cracks showed up, but did nothing about it. Few spots with broken coating, but did nothing about it. When they layer gravel on the sides of the concrete, did not do a proper layering of the black material before putting the gravel, within a year grass started to grow. Wanted to get a proper drain because backyard neighbour raised issue, but did nothing about it. Basically they dont respond to you once they are completed, paid off and gone. Disappointing that even if its a big work and you had treated them cordially, upon fall up later they ignore you blatantly.

Great North concrete worked with us to bring our dream patio to fruition. They asked what colour and design we wanted, and was sure to come out to do a measure up. They gave us clear explanations on what the strengths and weaknesses were for the design and location of the patio. They brought in machinery to properly prepare the land. They laid gravel and packed everything judiciously. The forming was done with care to make sure everything would be secure for the pour. When the concrete truck showed up they worked hard and moved fast to get the mix where it needed to go. I was doing a fence at the same time as the patio, so we used the post holes to get rid of the extra mix. The boys had everything prepped properly at this point to be able to level off, apply colour, and stamp the concrete efficiently. After some time, they came back to spray the colour powder off for the reveal, and WOW I couldnt believe how sexy that concrete looked! Nick dropped by at another date to get some relief cuts in. The cuts were nice and straight. We had some bad weather after that, so we had to wait a few weeks, but Nick dropped by again to spray the sealer. The sealer gave it a nice glazed/glossy look. They also poured a pad as a foundation for a shed. This was done with a smooth edge and a broom finish. My son enjoyed watering the pad for the next week to help it cure and watch it turn white. Would highly recommend Great North Concrete, they did an excellent job. Its been roughly 1 year since they completed the job and everything is holding up very well so far.
