No retrenchment phone calls, automatic garage door opener installed in the wrong position, the doors where custom ordered and they still where the wrong size! Russ won’t stand behind his work, told me after he installed the doors that there wasn’t a size to fit the opening! I also had him out at framing stage to confirm the door size and he said the sizes where no problem! Very disappointed in the job!

Repair or maintain fence- 8 Aug 2026
Run away from this contractor. I hired him to do a simple fence repair. He agreed to do it a week later. On the scheduled Saturday he didn't show. I call and he told me he had to help a stranded friend. He said he would show up at the beginning of the week. No show or contact Monday or Tuesday, i called and left a message on Wednesday morning then texted him mid day. Wednesday night he texted that he was sick. No contact Thursday, i texted twice on Friday, no response. I would at least expect some kind of communication to let me know if he is canceling or not rather than leaving me hanging. I would not recommend this contractor.

This comapny was hired by a neighbour to do a neighbourhood fence! Extremely poor communication, and was not made aware our yards would be sitting open for 4 weeks after posts went in until finally returning to do fence boards. Paid additional $10 per section for removal of old boards and cement only have dumped in front of house and have to ask for days to come back THEN weeks later found they had buried cement from posts in my garden and took 2 months to return to pick up. And finally the lack of professionalism in dealing with Mohammed was astounding to the point of texting me threats about "wanting his money and to not start a problem for him and for me" . Would never recommend this company!!!

Interior painting- 24 Jun 2026
NO. I expect after leaving this review that Michael will remove his profile but I'm doing it anyway. Michael did an ok job on painting the walls and ceiling of my primary bedroom (DONT LOOK CLOSELY) but he trashed my house. I took almost 40 pictures of splashes of paint on my floors, my white quartz, light fixtures and switches. I had the walls painted blue and there are multiple spots that are white. There are HUGE drips in multiple places. Michael will tell you he has been painting for 40 years which may be true but he clearly cannot see (or something) to do a neat job anymore. I have black paint seeping from baseboards into my pale floorboards. And his quote came in at more than twice the others. I regret hiring Michael. He gave me a small compensation back (after I asked) which doesn't cover the cost to have his work completely redone on one wall.

Roof Sealant- 11 Jun 2026
It did not proceed. The job was a simple recalling of some skylights. I explained the roof was metal and 45 degree slope. You accepted and set a date for the work to be done for $85/hr. I later explained a 20 foot ladder was adequate to access the roof as it had been so accessed by a professional outfit before. Your man arrived with a fold up ladder he said was inadequate. I doubt he intended to do the job. He said he needed another person to do the job and I agreed. I was then informed that an unspecified number of roof anchors costing $295 each were required. I was then informed that a mechanical lift would also be required. My roof has been easily accessed and worked on before without a lift or roof anchors…but the men were experienced professionals. I could not recommend your firm for metal roof work as a result of this experience. Ryan was however a very nice person.

In May 2019, I hired Shubrook Constructions to do landscaping. The company installed a water feature with bubbling rock as part of the landscaping. In July 2020, the pump that was under warranty stopped working. I informed the owner about the pump malfunction on July 6, 2020, and requested that he replace the pump or provide me with the warranty papers. On July 10, 2019, I wrote directly to the pump manufacturer in the UK and copied the owner. The manufacturer asked for the pump purchase information to carry out the proper paperwork to affect a warranty return. The company representative from the Sales and Customer Service noted: "I am unable to replace a pump under warranty without proof of purchase." On August 3, 2019, I followed up with Shubrook Constructions. While the company provides a one-year warranty for their work, the pump was still under warranty. I told the owner that if he could not replace the pump, please provide me with the required papers to get the pump directly from the manufacturer. I received the owner's response that the pump is getting delivered. It should be here within a few weeks. On September I2, 2020, I received another email from the owner about another delivery date. After repeated attempts and follow-ups with the business, the company installed the pump that did not display the bubbling feature I paid the money for. I told the owner I was very dissatisfied. The owner assured me that he would install the same/similar pump. Due to COVID-19, I was very patient with the company. After repeated attempts and emails, on June 15, 2021, the owner indicated that he would install the pump by the end of that week. However, he did not come to install the pump nor inform me that he would not be installing it. On June 21, 2021, I contacted Better Business Bureau (BBB) to resolve the issue. That same day I received a text from Shubrook Construction owner "Got the pump. Will be stopping by tomorrow to install." I informed BBB of the text and that I would withdraw the complaint if he installed the pump. However, the owner did not install the pump. On July 20, 2021, I received a response from BBB: "Your BBB has made several attempts to contact the business regarding the above referenced complaint. We regret to inform you that we have not received a response from the company." I contacted the Canadian Home Builders' Association. They informed me that as "Shubrook Constructions is not a member of the Canadian Home Builders' Association," they could not assist me. After talking with the College of Trades, I contacted Consumer Protection, Ontario. They reviewed my file and assigned a consumer officer from the Consumer Services Operations Division in December 2021. The officer offered a mediation. On December 17, 2021, I received the following response from the consumer officer, and they referred me to legal services: "The ministry may mediate a complaint if the parties agree to mediation. The business named in your complaint does not agree to mediation. Your complaint suggests that there may be evidence of a contravention of consumer law." In summary, Shubrook Constructions: 1) did not replace the pump with the quality that would provide the same bubbling rock feature even though the owner informed me that he has the pump and will install it; 2) did not return the hose that the owner took that I paid for. When I questioned why the owner took the hose with the old pump, I understood that he would replace the entire unit; nor 3) provide me with the warranty papers and the receipt for the pump that the manufacturer required. Fortunately for me, when I contacted the pump manufacturer and explained the situation, the sales and customer service wrote: "Ideally, we would like the pump purchase information so that we can carry out the right paperwork to effect a warranty return for you, but if that is not forthcoming, as a customer of ours with a warranty failure, we will put this right for you." And he sent the pump, free of charge. The company was terrific. However, the pump did not come with the hose. I have learned a lot through this experience. I should have insisted on the warranty papers rather than taking the owner's word for it. Further, I should have contacted BBB to check if the company is BBB accredited. Shubrook Constructions was not BBB accredited - if the business is not an Accredited BBB Business, they are not required to respond to complaints. Also, in the future, I will contact the City of London for any construction work or updates to my home. The city can help consumers understand construction codes (e.g., window well installation). In some cases, an inspector can also do an inspection. Through the College of Trades, one can check what any business is licensed for and isn't. One can contact the Canadian Home Builders' Association for home building information. I have written to local and provincial officials to strengthen construction and landscaping laws. Fortunately for me, the manufacturer demonstrated very high-quality customer service. They replaced the pump without papers and helped me understand what I needed to install it as I no longer had the hose from the old pump.

Repair door- 31 Oct 2026
DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY! He does shoddy carpentry work. When asked a few clarifications and questions regarding the flaws in his work and to fix them to an acceptable standard, he became very aggressive, talked disrespectfully and intruded in private space and tried to intimidate by shouting on my face just a few inches away. He was so threatening that I told him that he should leave my home immediately otherwise I'll call the police. The moment I said that, he ran out and shouted that he will return with his lawyer. Absolutely unprofessional and uncivilized character. All I wanted him to do is rectify and fine tune the rattling & squeaking of the doors as well as fix all the flaws to an acceptable standard. I have attached photos and have 3 videos showing the rattling, squeaking doors as they open & close. I am unable to load the videos here but they are available to view upon request and are uploaded in the messages section of this app.

Install Vinyl, Linoleum or PVC floor- 15 Sep 2026
Positives - the job was completed in the end, and the workmanship was acceptable. Negatives - communication was terrible. To quote the job Omar was very punctual as it was in his best interest, but all other communication after that was frustrating. What was supposed to be a 2-3 day job turned into 2+ weeks of tardiness, delays and unkept promises. I almost thought we would have unfinished flooring since he was ignoring my texts and calls.

Our cleaning day fell on the day before a Holiday. The day before my autistic son’s outdoor birthday celebration. We had no teason to know it wouldn’t happen as cleaning was scheduled on the same day it always is for many months now. Skipped our house without even letting us know. 3 hrs AFTER our cleaning was due I texted, then was finally told we wouldn’t be getting our scheduled cleaning as “the staff are too tired from fitting in the “extra” houses”! Excuse me? Then stick to the regular schedule you agreed to, or find more staff if you can, clean it yourself, don’t make promises you can’t keep OR be better organized! So utterly unreliable and unprofessional. No loyalty to customers.
