Working with XSellBricksPlus has been terrific. With our next-door neighbours, we teamed up to hire Jason to demolish and remove a concrete pad between our houses, as well as the neighbours' back yard patio, and replace both with flagstones to match those already in our back yard. He also filled in an area of ground left uncovered by flagstones after we reconfigured our back deck. Jason's team demolished the cement, and he arranged for bin disposal, added a French drain (to alleviate some water pooling woes we used to have between our houses), shopped around for flagstones, added gravel and screening, and installed the flagstones along with some rectangular bricks and some river rocks, to create a much more pleasing environment. We couldn't be happier with the results, and Jason was pleasant and cheerful throughout the process. See the before-and-after photos -- he does great work.

We've had Mike's team helping with our electrical rewiring and lighting needs for about 2 years as we worked through a renovation. At first, we needed some minor but urgent repairs, but as we got into renovating our back porch, our kitchen, two bathrooms and two bedrooms, we kept having them back for more. And finally, we undertook the rewiring of our old knob-and-tube work for the rest of our 125-year-old house, including adding more outlets and more LED lighting. Along the way, we had our electrical service upgraded and a new panel installed (and relocated in our basement). The guys who have done the vast majority of this work are John and Danny, really good-natured guys who work well as a team, and who are a pleasure to have around. Their work is very good, and they were very conscientious about consulting with us throughout the process (for example, "this switch could be here, and control this set of ceiling lights, or maybe you would prefer..."). Mike has been very kind to accommodate (as much as possible) the scheduling requirements of working in conjunction with a more extensive renovation. Mike has been on-site for much of the planning, and John and Danny have worked out details with him by phone and by consulting with us. I would probably suggest that anyone undertaking an extensive job like this devote a lot of thought beforehand to lighting and electricacl planning. Although we're extremely happy with the result, I've realized that we were making small changes all along the way -- such as realizing after doing something in one room, that we could consider doing something similar elsewhere. There are so many options these days (from LED light strips to funky switches like the Lutron Caseta "remote control" light switches that solved problems we hadn't even recognized we were "working around" for so many years). Because we tackled different parts of our house at different times, we could incorporate those discoveries as we went along, but it might be helpful for homeowners to view their electricians as consultants from the outset. We tried very hard not just to replace what already existed, but to think ahead about improvements -- if you're always reaching the end of the vacuum cleaner's reach, why not install another outlet in the hallway? (Duh) That kind of thing. I think we succeeded in about 90% of those cases, but there are still a couple of "Gee, why didn't we think to do that?" situations. All of which is to say that we benefited from John and Danny's expertise, and Mike's, and we're very happy with all the work they've done for us.

Integrity Roofers has done an excellent job. Our 125-year-old house was due for a fairly significant re-roofing -- Cory recommended removing the 3 existing layers of shingles, and then covering the surface with plywood before putting on new shingles, and then we needed new soffits, fascia, eavestroughs and downspouts. There were weather delays, and we had other renovations going on that meant further delays, but eventually we got going and the guys who showed up were outstanding -- they did an excellent job in record time, and carefully protected our recently re-sided house, and cleaned up after the job was done. They were all very nice too, which helps. The guys who came to do the metal work a couple of weeks later were also terrific. Our neighbours were coordinating their eavestrough replacement job with ours, and their roof rafters needed some rather extensive repair before the eavestroughs and fascia could be installed, and the neighbours also had a disused TV antenna that needed removing, and the guys from Integrity disassembled that and removed it (for a very fair price). The guys even had to work very carefully over our polycarbonate awning that was inconveniently placed for tall ladders, and they did it all without grumbling! veyr nice chaps. All of the work seems to be of very high quality, and we're very happy. I didn't want to post a review right away -- I wanted a couple of rain storms under our belt first! -- and presumably it's over the winter months that we'll find out how well everything is working, but I'm very optimistic! I am happy we chose Integrity Roofers and recommend them highly.

A pleasure to work with. They were able to schedule us in for the day after I contacted them (I'm not sure if that's the norm or if we were simply lucky). They then called to say they were running ahead of schedule and could come early, and they cleaned our ducts, which hadn't been done in at least 20 years (eep!), and we're very happy with the service. The guys were friendly, did a great job, and cleaned up after the job was done. I don't think we'll wait another 20 years before doing it again -- our house has been increasingly dusty in recent years, and I think I now know why!

Paul is terrific. We couldn't be happier. We had purchased 9 windows and a large French door from Marvin Windows (excellent products, by the way) and that company doesn't have installers on staff, they use contractors, of which Paul is one. He came to do the window measurements and we were impressed right away (after several other contractors had been involved -- don't ask!). When the windows had been manufactured and were ready to be installed, he did a splendid job (scheduled us in promptly, installed them quickly, taking about 3-4 days, with great attention to detail, and he and his son were a pleasure to have around -- flexible, accommodating, pleasant and so on). We have had problems with our main contractor who has not been showing up (etc. etc. etc.) and Paul had mentioned that he's a contractor too, and doesn't just install windows. So we asked Paul for a quote on an aspect of the job that had come up since our original arrangement with our primary contractor (we discovered our 1893-era home had no insulation in the bedroom) and Paul's quote turned out to be slightly lower than our main contractor's (I never tell one vendor what another has already quoted), and so we hired Paul to remove the plaster-and-lath from 2 exterior bedroom walls, install insulation (rockwool, I think?), put up drywall and tape and mud, and replace all the baseboards and window trim with something similar to what is elsewhere throughout our Victorian-era house already. He did a splendid job. He carefully and precisely cut baseboards around the heating vents, and the drywall around the new electrical outlets our electrician put in. Everything is beautiful. It's spectacular to see a brand new window looking as if it was 1893 and someone had just installed it and the trim for the first time. (And now we have insulation in the bedroom!) We couldn't be happier. See the before (single window), during (insulation) and after (double window, drywall, with trim + baseboards) photos of the bedroom (as yet unpainted). We've now asked him to quote on some other small-ish projects, and we anticipate that we will involve him in our kitchen and bathroom renovations, when we get around to those.
