We selected Tender Touch as our moving company because of the good reviews posted on this site. What a big mistake that was. My boyfriend was moving from his two bed room condo to our new house. He accumulated very little stuff as a bachelor therefore we expect the move will be very quick and easy. He had even gone through the trouble of making sure none of the boxes were overly heavy. However the move didn't go well at all. The mover showed up late. Their excuse was that my boyfriend had given them the wrong address even thought they had the correct address written down on their documents. The movers moved at a painfully slow pace. One mover carried one drawer up the stair at one time and then only two curtain rods up the other time. Not sure if it was done on purpose (they charge by the hour) or they are just don't know how to move things. Likely both. They also broke off two of the coffee table legs. The move took an entire day! (10 hours) I have moved many times before with much more stuff. The move generally didn't take more than 4 to 5 hours. The estimate Tender Touch gave us was $450 and the total came to over $1,000. More than double their estimate! When we call the company, they are unwilling to accept the fact that what they charge was unreasonable. I would never hire this company again and make sure all my friends don't make the same mistake that I made.

Company Response

In January 2008 a valued client of Tender Touch Moving brought to our attention the HomeStars web site and this complaint. As we were seriously concerned about the circumstances of this statement we sent an e-mail to HomeStars, to inquire on who posted the text as we have no record of any of these circumstances in our file. HomeStars was very co-operative and contacted the publisher of the statement, but after investigation we were advised.

"We don't provide companies with any identifying details about reviewers. We can't give any information out as per privacy policy, and the consumer has chosen to remain anonymous."

Looking at the serious nature of the complaint and the strong words used I would think any client this upset would want to resolve any outstanding issue, but in this case they want to remain "anonymous" leading us to believe the authenticity of the complaint in it's entirety is a HOAX!
