Star Alliance Heating replaced a furnace for my mother's house. Jacky came in person to inspect the house and quote. Unlike other contractors that just wanted to put the same capacity or larger, he recommended downsizing based on the size of the house, air ducts and the fact that the house has been updated with newer windows, etc. He also answered my technical questions about wiring and furnace setup/configuration. Jacky was very polite and honest. The bid came in hundreds of dollars below the competition and with a his own 2 year labor warranty. He could have sold a $500 10 year extended lennox labor warranty when I asked but recommended against it, saying it's a waste of money and not needed. There was no push to replace the still functional a/c or sell unnecessary accessories like humidifier, air cleaner, etc. The installers were very professional and finished the job in 4 hours. They put drop-cloth down to protect the floors, cleaned up all the garbage leaving the house as if they weren't there. When it come to setting up the new furnace, they originally wanted to leave the a/c fan speed fairly high for the small a/c installed, but after discussing with them agreed with me to lower it to more closely match it. Shows that they're flexible and value customer input. Overall, Star-Alliance is above average for residential hvac contractors in the GTA and I recommend them with confidence for furnace replacement.
