My soffit was badly in need of being repainted. Ronaldo and his colleague Rodrigo took 2 1/2 days to scrape, patch and paint it along with the back wall which is stucco. They did a great job. Professional, friendly, honest, thorough, competitive. Highly recommended.

In the fall of 2015 we decided to renovate the ground floor of our old bungalow and turned to HomeStars to find a contractor. The owner of this company, Natanael, came out to meet us and as we walked through the house discussing what we had in mind we were immediately impressed by his knowledge and experience as he made suggestions. Within a week we had a detailed quote listing exactly what his company would do and would not do, including what we were responsible for providing. In addition to the HomeStars reviews, he provided us with a list of references and we called several of them. There was a common theme - he sticks to his schedule and he sticks to his budget. This sealed the deal for us. The project was to take 11-12 weeks, and ended up taking a few weeks longer because we had them do additional work (e.g. insulating the walls). Work began the first week in January 2016. There were no surprises in terms of unexpected costs - any additional work we asked for whose costs couldn't be absorbed was discussed and agreed to ahead of time. Scope of the work included: new hardwood floors throughout; two new bathrooms (powder room, ensuite); new kitchen; raised, coffered ceilings in living room and dining room; three skylights; reframing and spray foam insulation in most outer walls; new insulation in the attic. The work included moving some walls. In a renovation of this size there are bound to be glitches and there were a few, but generally speaking they were dealt with professionally. Natanael and his gang were great to deal with through what is invariably a stressful process. Natanael is an honest guy who really wants to make his clients happy. In the months since the reno was completed, we have had a few issues and they were quickly resolved. The end result is impressive - our friends are in awe. We would not hesitate to hire Natanael again, or to recommend him to friends.

My mother (who is 80 years old) contacted this company to replace the weatherstripping along the bottom of her garage door. They sent someone out, and she was told that the springs needed to be replaced, and also the rollers. (The door was installed four years ago.) She reluctantly agreed to have the springs replaced, but opted not to go for the rollers; she was informed that by not doing so, they couldn't provide a warranty. The man was extremely rude - she told him so, and he apologized. He had problems replacing the springs, and when he had done so the door would not stay closed (it would reach the bottom, then apparently trigger the safety mechanism, then go back up). He did something to the door opener mechanism so it would close. He had to return a few days later, as he didn't have the weatherstripping in his truck. On the second visit he installed the weatherstripping on top of the old one. He again tried to get her to replace the rollers. She declined. So where are we? My mother is $330 poorer; the door's safety mechanism no longer works; the door doesn't line up properly on the tracks, leaving gaps and making for a very noisy open/close; and part of the old weatherstripping is protruding out from under the new one. I called the company and they said that they had "faith in their repair people" and that he couldn't justify paying someone to go out and investigate the complaint (since they'd already sent someone out twice - which was NOT our fault); he felt that since I'd called back to modify the details of the complaint (to indicate the gaps which my mother had just noticed) that "nothing will make her happy". They want me to have them come out again at a cost of at least $75 for the call, and up to $200 to replace the rollers... so that we would end up spending $500-$600 for what was originally supposed to be a routine replacement of weatherstripping. My mother paid $600 four years ago for the new door... installed!! Judging by the other complaints I see here, I'm not alone. Stay away.
