We had mice in our home for the first time. I don't like mice. These guys came quickly, were polite, funny and efficient. They were reasonable in price compared to some other companies. Within a day we didn't here them. Within a month the company came back and made sure they were gone. Great experience. We did have an issue this year with squirrels which they came and took care of. The squirrel issue persisted and they came back took another look around and had to fill a couple more holes. We did have to pay for the work only -which was fair and its been resolved. These guys are more reasonable than some of the other companies we found.

I'll start by saying Solda pools is one of the most reputable companies for pool installations. Their workmanship is five stars and they do everything with top quality. If something they do fails to meet your expectations they will fix it. Using them will give you peace of mind as they have been around for decades and their family business is beginning to be run by the next generation so they are most likely to be around for a long time to come. That's hard to find in any company. However this peace of mind comes with a steep price- a very big one! They gave me a quote and were very upfront with it. However for a company that does as many pools as Solda they weren't forthcoming with exactly how much landscaping and the opening/closings and maintenance would cost. This company is at least 30% higher than what you could pay for an installation and 2-3 times more than the other companies I called for its maintenance fees. I decide to go with them at least for the installation for peace of mind and so had high expectations for them. I'd give then a B taking all into consideration. There were cigarette butts and Tim Horton's coffee cups left on the premises which they cleaned up promptly when I asked them to but not before. On many occasions they didn't get back to me on Emails or phone-calls for weeks and I had to be persistent and diligent with phoning them which delayed the project many times. They don't work well with others and prefer to wait until any other contractors are done before starting the next step which is fine however when they are late in completing a task they also do not take other contractors into consideration also delaying our project on a couple of occasions. Their responses seemed to be vague as they explained their work load was quite high with the number of pool projects they had on the go. You are dealing with so many different people that sometimes the message got lost in the shuffle and they seemed to pass the buck to someone else in regards to what was suppose to have been done and even when I was taking my vacation so wouldn't be around to answer any questions wasn't noted. This was mentioned to them from the start of the project and numerous times in the weeks prior to my departure. Everyone that worked for them was very nice but some of them didn't speak English so it got frustrating at times when you were leaving for work and couldn't get messages to the right person. Their communication was lacking when I went to pick the color of boulders I wanted for the backyard which to this day doesn't make sense to me as they are buried and only the tops to most them could be seen and we actually had discussions about the layers on the sides being the reason I chose them at the site. Perhaps showing a 3D version when planning would be something they could improve on. They budgeted for a certain amount of sodding which I signed off on and then more than doubled it and fixed issues with my neighbour's without my consent and then billed me for it. They told me the pool would be filled by my hose and then got a water truck at the last minute without notifying me that I would have to take care of the payment. They took care of it after I made a fuss and paid them at a later date but the stress of this didn't have to be there. They emailed me stating my electrical inspection passed with a couple of warnings when it had been failed because of access issues and then a faulty breaker. Even now I have to climb over my pumps to turn off the panel. They are planning to fit platforms over the pumps which has not been done to this date. I have concerns that it will be done however it won't be until I persist that it does. Finally the water heater they installed could not be used until my meter was upgraded but they did not inform me of this until their gas guy came by so we couldn't use the pool for another 6 weeks which pushed us into late September before we could the pool in the colder weather. With all projects there is always going to be issues that arise and Solda did their best with accommodating my wishes however for the price charged for their services I do not think any major issue should arise. Again the company is trustworthy but you are paying for it. Good luck in your choice and I hope this was helpful.

Donald Macumber (the owner) is the most talented, honest, trustworthy and fair contractor we have EVER had to deal with. He will quote you fairly and will ALSO make sure the job is perfect to a standard he would want in his own home. He is clear and concise with expectations both with quality and finances. I would not hesitate at all to recommend his services. ps. I've dealt with disastrous contractors with big ego's and poor workmanship. You will not encounter this with Donald.
