When our original contractor of two years came down with a physical ailment that prevented him from starting our modest extension at the back of our house, he referred us to Andrew and Partex Design Build as our new contractor. Not having had experiences with Andrew before, we were naturally uneasy about hiring someone that we had no previous personal or professional dealings with. Our worries were unfounded. Taking our pre-existing designs, Andrew was able to seamlessly shoehorn into the job and provide quick turnaround time on constructing a detailed breakdown for the project within our budget. Once approved, site construction began quickly and efficiently, with Partex Design Build negotiating the various material sourcing/pricing and subcontracted trades with professionalism and aplomb. Build milestones were hit, and the budget generally stayed within each of these groupings. Much of the process for first time clients is a bit terrifying but Andrew was good at calming those worries and linearly explaining (and re-explaining) all the steps in an easily digestible fashion. When staffing or build complications arose, Andrew was able to pivot, offer a variety of alternatives, and ultimately deal with the problems while still staying within the constraints of our budget and needs. The build did extend beyond the initial completion date, mostly due to scheduling issues with trades as well as the December holidays, throughout it, Andrew was able to stay positive and help us see the end of the finish line. Andrew is not afraid to voice his opinion, but he also listens to the clients needs, and is willing to come up with a compromise that is mutually beneficial for everyone. If the client is fine with it, Andrew will also bring his dog, Seamus, to sites. Seamus is so charming and delightful that he actually feels like more like a therapy dog for anxious clients. In the end, we are extremely pleased with the addition, and find the room warm and inviting to spend time in, even if the original intent was mostly functional in nature. But beware if using Partex Design Build, be sure to have plenty of dark chocolate and red wine on hand!

Luis was very clear and linear when explaining the labourious process of removing the broken concrete of a shared path between our house and our neighbour’s, then replacing with a brand new concrete path. He was also very reasonable in negotiating the cost of the job. I was very impressed with the diligence of his team, and kind-of astonished at the Speed and amount of work accomplished in just two days. It has, since, rained, and the water streams away from our house beautifully. We are very happy with the job by Luis and his crew, and would heartily recommend them for all contracting needs.

Upon finding ourselves in sudden need of a new boiler system, as our older system became unexpectedly corroded, Ricardo came out to our home, inspected the failing system, and very succinctly explained the different options and their costs available to us for replacement. He, then, made his recommendation. After some deliberation, we decided to follow his advice, and he and his team came and installed both systems, and a through-the-wall air conditioning unit (which we were able to bundle together at a reduced cost), with as little fuss and disturbance to our home as possible. We are very happy, and I absolutely would recommend The Boiler Shoppe to anyone.
