We've lived at this residence for over 25 years now and have hired people or companies to clear snow seasonally for a good part of those 25 years. The service received could be classified average, better than average or less than average. This year we hired National Snow Removal and the only way I can classify their service: abysmal. After the heavy snowfalls we had this season, they would show up very, very late (sometimes only after we called) with a hand shovel (without a snow blower) and remove only the top layer of loose snow leaving behind a thick layer of packed snow at the bottom. Each time we called to complain we got the response that it was our job to put salt to remove that packed snow. On at least two occasions the snowbank across the driveway left by the city snowplows was not cleared for days leaving us housebound. We have photographs and neighbors to evidence/witness this abysmal service.

Thank you for your review. You forgot to mention you were warned multiple times regarding the freezing rain and ice storm you missed to salt while you were on vacation that your son was aware of. You also forgot to mention this is not apart of your contract nor is the city snow banks or anything below 3cm which is your responsibility to salt instead of letting it accumulate within days for a visit on coverage amount. We service multiple properties on your street and a few of your neighbours without any complains of city snowbanks nor ice build up from freezing rain or ice storms, which homeowners handle themselves; aside from those who have deep freeze coverage. Salting is only applied to your home after a snowfall clean up, it's your responsibility as home owner to salt multiple times after that to ensure your property is cleared from the amount of extremely cold alerts and days we've had while you were away, that you have mentioned.
We've also made return visits to your property on multiple occasions to help you with city snow banks and other complaints you brought to our attention regarding your sidewalk from our notes. It is not our fault you were away and did not salt your property to experience this.
Your review at most is biased based on your own faults as a home owner while you were away on vacation without notification and failed to take care of your property as required throughout the above mentioned events that you missed. Your package includes snow removal and not ice removal, as far as your claim goes with leaving a layer of ice below. We wish you the best of luck in the future.
