We recently tackled a full home reno requiring, amongst other things, an update to the heating system (the previous heating system was a coal conversion, oil fired, boiler in excessof 50 years old!). We wanted a wall mounted high efficiency condensing boiler and after speaking many, many Toronto based heating contractors, we opted to go with Frank and Ketteringham heating. Frank impressed me with his honesty and reasonable approach. He also wasn't afraid to answer questions, unlike many of the other heating contractors who came to bid. We soon settled on the boiler, ideal placement and other modifications to the upgrade the exisiting heating system. We agreed a price and a date and duration for the installation. Frank came round a few times during the reno to see how we were getting along and to look at the pipes as we were discovering them as we tore down the walls. He seem geniunely interested and even went so far as to give us some pex piping to run in the walls before the drywall went up. Jason, Troy and Matt came as agreed and installed the boiler and related equipment and reconnected some new radiators. They worked efficiently in the basement and laid down dropsheets or took off their shoes as and when they needed to walk through the finished house. I am grateful to Ketteringham heating for making the process of upgrading my heating system a satisfying one. For a while there I didn't think there was an honest heating contractor in Toronto. I would gladly recommend them to others and will be using them again soon when it's time to finish the basement. Thank you Ketteringham Heating.

We contacted Amosite following recommendations by various heating contractors that we had been speaking to about replacing the heating system. They all spoke very highly of David, his team and the quality of their work. Amosite were the first contractors we booked and the first to commit to a date, a full six weeks before the reno started. Just knowing that the asbestos would be removed from the house before any of the other contractors went in gave us a lot of comfort. On day one, Amosite's guys turned up and in the morning and had removed all of the asbestos and cut up the old oil tank and taken it all away to be disposed of. All without any fuss and, generally, with a smile on their faces (it was a very hot day and there was some heavy lifting involved!). I would gladly recommend Amosite to anyone to thinking of buying a house with asbestos in it (most of the older Toronto homes). Thanks Amosite.

We have recently tackled a classic Toronto reno project requiring, amongst other things, a full rewire of the existing knob-and-tube rewiring. We tendered to four companies and, during the quotation inspection, were impressed by Alex's professional approach and prompt response, which greatly informed our decision to opt for Mapleleaf Electric over their competition (as they were not the lowest bidders). We contacted Alex again just before the reno started to discuss sequencing and coordination between Mapleleaf and the other contractors. Alex was helpful and flexible, even asking to start early (on a holiday Monday no less!). Alex, Avi and four others (apologies for not remembering all of your names) arrived at 7am and quickly set to work. They were hard working and very fast, and in just three days they had completed the rough-in, including relocating the breaker panel. They returned twice, at short notice, to complete the project as the drywall and decorations were completed and obtained the electrical inspector's sign-off. I must say that working with Mapleleaf Electrical was a great unexpected. A good, diligent and honest electrical contractor who did exactly what we agreed to (and in some places more if truth be told) completing the job without charging any more than we had agreed at the outset. To find a contractor like that in this market is rare. I would gladly work with Alex and the boys again, however I do not wish to tackle another reno anytime soon, so I'll have to content myself with endorsing them to friends and family. Thank you Mapleleaf Electric.
