I hired Cargo Cabbie to move a single bulky, heavy item up 2 flights of stairs in my home, and glad I chose them. Communication for the estimate, booking, schedule and payment was very easy and streamlined. The guys who performed the move were friendly, professional and so careful. They protected and covered floors, railings and the item. Well worth the cost rather than risking injury to myself or house. Will definitely use them again for any moving needs.

12 years ago we had GEM install 3 basement windows and a basement door. They all had integrated mini-blinds between the glass. Within the first year, the up/down feature of the mini-blinds failed in two of the windows. GEM replaced the glass inserts, with mini-blinds that tilted only (removing the up/down feature). Within 8 years one window developed a curving crack along it's length. We paid to have GEM replace the glass insert. Now, 12 years later, a curving crack developed in a second window, the up/down feature of the mini-blinds has failed in 3 of the windows, the tilt feature of the mini-blinds failed in 1 window and the thermal seal of the door glass insert was starting to go, as there was moisture between the glass panes. While dealing with our issues over the years, the response from GEM was challenging, slow and required me to email the owners directly multiple times to facilitate repair/correction. Given that experience, together with the multiple issues with our basement windows, we went to a new window company. We decided we weren't going to deal with GEM's service or products any longer. Therefore, after only 12 years, we just paid over $3000 to have our basement windows (and door glass insert) replaced once again. While the GEM windows were being removed, the new window company identified and explained to us multiple issues; the GEM windows were not fully screwed into place; we could see screws sticking out appox 1/2", the GEM windows were oversized for the openings; not leaving room for spray foam insulation or to allow for any expansion/contraction, and mostly there was NO spray foam insulation around any of the windows; the only barrier between the outside elements and the interior of our house was the aluminum capping. This confirmed we made the right decision switching from GEM to a new company for our new basement windows.

12 years ago, when Andrew bought his windows with blinds, this feature was relatively new in custom windows and the industry had a lot of problems with products supplied. It often did take excessive time to get our suppliers to respond, but that would not be apparent to Andrew and it would look like it was GEM taking its time responding. Re the comments about the installation, while anything is possible, one cannot always take the word of a competitive supplier at face value. Clearly, the glass issues Andrew experienced had nothing to do with the installation, which was there for 12 years without problem.

After experiencing poor results from a previous window company, we chose Clera to replace our basement windows and a door glass insert, and are very pleased. The process was easy and effortless, with excellent communication and follow through. The windows and glass insert are exactly what we requested, look great and work properly with proper installation. A small issue with a wall 'scuff' and one window screen were promptly addressed and corrected, and we could tell the installer and salesman were both very conscientious about our satisfaction with their products and service. Thanks to Omar and Alex. We wish we had found Clera sooner, and would use them again without hesitation.

Based on previous reviews, I requested a quote from Professional Roofers and am glad I did. From start to finish it was an easy process. They did the written quote in person to ensure what I required, and what they would provide, was fully understood and agreed to. The installers arrived at the agreed date/time and immediately got to work. They did a great job cleaning up afterwards, including cleaning the eaves troughs and using a 'magnetic broom' to ensure there were no nails in my driveway. Immediately upon completion, a quality control manager arrived and went up on the garage roof to review the work. The estimator, installers, and quality control manager were all very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again for any future roofing needs. Note: Our price included stripping/disposing the old shingles and putting new 'Premium' shingles on. We received a similar quote from another company (within $100) however it did not include stripping the old shingles, and only provided 'Basic' new shingles.

We had soffit, fascia, eavestroughs and downspouts added to a new home addition, and matching soffit and fascia put on existing older part of house. The work by Home Exterior Aluminum was superb, and our on-site contractor agreed. Communication with Russell leading up to the work was easy and he always kept us up to date with emails and phone calls. Although they were not the cheapest quote, we are satisfied we got exceptional work for the price. I asked if a downspout could be re-routed further away from the house - they did it. I asked if they could repair an existing eaves damaged during our current renovation - they fixed it, re-attached it with screws instead of nails, cleaned it out, and spray painted some scratches on it. When done, they meticulously cleaned up all around the house. They had no problem completing work on our very high, hard to reach, 3rd floor. We have been renovating old houses in downtown Toronto for 20 years and this was one of our most pleasant dealings with a company. Highly recommended. Please take this review into consideration when making your decision. And thanks to previous reviewers for helping us choose Home Exterior Aluminum.

Cornerstone recently completed a new garage floor for me, and I'm very pleased with the entire experience. Saverio and his crew were all very friendly, straight forward and easy to work with. The work was completed exactly as described in the contract, and quickly. They started the day they said they would and worked every day until it was complete. I mentioned to Saverio I was concerned about cats, skunks, racoons & squirrels walking through the new wet concrete, only to come home and find the garage baracaded off with temporary fencing he had errected. That's an example of the care Saverio takes and customer service he provides. I would highly recommend Cornerstone to anyone looking for a no hassle contractor who does excellent work.
