Our furnace and AC were installed by Cosmopolitan Heating and Cooling about 4 years ago now. We were very happy with how everything went and our new equipment. Ather Hasan is our maintenance guy with Cosmo and we are very happy with his work. He is always very polite and respectful throughout his visits and my husband really appreciates that he gives him so many tips when it comes to maintaining our furnace and AC etc. He is very thorough when it comes to maintaining our equipment and goes above and beyond what most AC guys out there do. We greatly appreciate his honesty and feel we are able to trust his advice and how he maintains our equipment. Today he cleaned our AC as part of the maintenance and as you can see from the photo taken before it really needed it. Ather used a specially mixed cleaning solution to clean the entire unit after first testing the solution's strength in one area as shown in pic he further diluted it for an overall cleaning). Thank you for taking such pride in your work and caring for your customers.We'll be seeing you soon Ather!

Do not use this service. The people here will continue to come to your home even if you do not want or order the service and send you notices daily regarding money owed. Tried to call to resolve the issue and Manager tells me I must pay the outstanding balance for services I did not ask for. She says I signed up verbally since when I ordered the service for one season however I was not told this at the time. I'm sick of companies who operate using shady business tactics. Lawncare businesses are the worst and these guys are no exception. 500 for lawncare on our small little lawn and our grass is still overrun with crabgrass! Update 10/31/14: Another example of the poor customer service offered by the company (BRAMPTON location) is that they told Homestars I was not a customer even after I had produced proof (names, invoice# etc.). They still denied it so I had to scan and email my invoices. I cannot speak for other locations for this franchise, but avoid the Brampton one!

Hi Sonja, we are sorry to hear that you are not happy. Our programs are continuous which means that we do return on an annual basis unless you cancel the program. We do however, make each and every customer very aware of this by letting them know when they sign up for the program. This is also stated on all of our paperwork that is left at the home after each visit throughout the season in bold font as well as on both renewal letters that we send out in the fall and the winter before the new season begins. We are extremely transparent with our customers to ensure that they are satisfied with the service. Unfortunately since the pesticide by law in 2009 we do not control crabgrass nor have we ever advertised that we do since 2009. We would be happy to discuss matters further with you but we do need your address in order to do so as we can not locate you in our system based on your first name. Thank you.

I almost went with another company but something didn't feel right about the guy so I looked him up on Homestars and saw he had a very bad rating which prompted me to look for another contractor to do our deck. I found Griffin Decks and after reading the reviews I felt he sounded like someone we should have come quote on the project. We are so glad we came across Griffin Decks in our search because we couldn't be happier with the job these guys did on our deck. Mike was very professional and most importantly polite. He gave us suggestions for the design and worked easily with my ideas and was also able to show several photos of his previous projects he's worked on which helped us feel comfortable about moving forward and knowing we were on the same page with the design of the deck. As far as construction, everything went very well and the deck was literally built in about 4 hours. We could not believe how quickly they finished it. The end result is stunning, our backyard now feels like a private oasis. I should also add I was pleasantly surprised that there was no scrap wood, nails, screws or other building materials left behind. Our yard was spotless! Thanks Mike!

Some bumps along the way with patio door installation regarding wiring (an outlet needed to be moved) which resulted in some problems. My husband had to do some unexpected exploration in our basement ceiling to find where wires were resulting in taking apart a bulkhead. Installer then ran wires from basement up to where outlet was (that had to be moved). Husband also had to buy wiring supplies from Rona. We expected the process would just be about moving the outlet over as we discussed on consultation visit with the installer. I understand things don't always go as planned though so we tried to be understanding and do our part to help him in rewiring the outlet. In process some mud was tracked on our wood stairs leading to the basement which were in process of being stained (now have to resand them again), wish they would have laid sheets where they walked. For the previous installation of windows and side door installer put a scratched handle on one window but told me it would be replaced when he came back to install patio door (their 2nd visit). He didn't have the right part on his second visit so wasn't able to. Said he'd be back Thurs to do it but was no call, no show. I had some issues with getting ahold of someone within company to have issue resolved which led to leaving this review. Dennis followed up immediately after posting review and installer came by and fixed the handle asap. Would have been better not to have to chase after them to properly finish our job before going onto next customer but we are overall pleased with the windows and doors. Cannot give a 10 rating because of customer service issues along the way but end result was good. Had the sense these contractors are being pushed hard to do as many jobs as possible and in process are not able to give proper attention to current customers in terms of follow-up on any issues. This needs to be addressed better within company for better customer satisfaction.

We have a few cats so I felt it was probably time to clean the ducts for that reason. We also never had since buying the home 4 years ago. I was a bit worried the cats would get freaked out or get in the way however the two guys (Steve and Matt) who came to our home were both really polite and respectful of our requests and of our pets. They seemed to work very efficiently at vaccuuming the ducts out with their huge vaccuum they had in their truck. It got a bit cold with having the door cracked open for their hose to run through but nothing we couldn't handle for the 1 hour or so they were here. I requested to have our dryer vent cleaned out which they said they did, I will still need to see myself as I haven't run a load in the dryer yet (it was previously not drying well). They told me it was very clogged up. They also said it wasn't included in the service. I felt it should really be, especially since we were paying 330 + tax for a home that is not very big. Regardless I believe they did unclog it as both guys seemed like honest and hard-working individuals. They did show me photos of a couple of our larger air ducts (before and after photos). I assume they were our ducts, although I never saw them take the photos. If they were then they certainly cleaned alot of filth from inside those ducts. Upon finishing their service the home smelled very nice with the thyme lemon sanitizer they sprayed in the vents. Too bad it doesn't last longer :) I should also mention that when they were cleaning our furnace they loosened a wire and so it was not working when they left. We had to call Paul at their office who let the guys know to come back and see why the furnace wasn't turning on. Thankfully we had a back up gas fireplace in our living room because it was very cold outside. I suggest in the future they ensure the furnace is working when leaving a customers' home however I was more than happy with how quickly they came back to resolve the issue. This is very good customer service and I know this company is working very hard to ensure they keep their customer happy. I would recommend this company to friends or family who need their ducts cleaned.

Hi Sonja, thanks for taking the time to share about your experience with us. This was a very detailed review, and you bring up a lot of IMPORTANT points in it. Having completed your job a lot quicker than anticipated, if you take a look at your invoice, we actually DID the Dryer Vent Cleaning for FREE :) As far as the photos go, your absolutely correct. How do you know if those pictures are actually yours? There are some companies that show the exact same before and after pictures, to every customer, but its not even from their own house. I can assure you that the pictures you viewed were infact from yours, and if you ever have any doubts, pick up the phone, tell me to get over there, and we will do a complete inspection again, no worries. For people reading this review, keep that in mind, as you want to be sure the pictures your viewing are indeed from your own home. Lastly, about the furnace. We do make sure the system is running before and after we leave. For whatever reason, they just put your fan on and left the heat off, but the wire that was disconnected was for the heat, which still allowed the fan to run, which is why it probably didn't cross their mind to check. None the less, when we goof up, we make sure to have the problem rectified as quick as possible. Glad this was all done to your satisfaction and you were happy with your decision to have us in your home and complete the work. Thank you again for the kind words about our company. We hired Mike to perform the home inspection on an older house in Rockwood ON. House was marketed as 'All the work has been done' and due to it's current cosmetic renos my husband and I felt the home must be well-maintained when we put our offer. Within minutes of speaking to Mike, he brought some serious grading and water issues to our attention and throughout the inspection the list became extremely long with problems adding up including mold and a big issue with a backyard retaining wall. Mike even uncovered the fact that the basement was flooded previously which was never disclosed to us and seemed to be covered up by a recent basement renovation. In the end it became clear that we walked into a very bad deal and had no option but to walk away from it. We're very grateful for Mike's honesty and for keeping OUR interests in mind throughout the inspection. We were also so impressed with MIke's patience, knowledge, honesty, and how easy he is to communicate with/how well he explains things. He really took his time even drawing us sketches in some cases. We will be using Mike again in the future!

Had a new furnace and AC installed back in April as our old ones were getting on 16 years and our AC was giving us some problems. I had a few companies come by to give us a quotation. I felt that this company's rep was very friendly and informative despite the fact that his english was not that great. Mostly only noticeable when I would ask questions. Otherwise he had his sales talk down pact and gave us all the information that we needed. I decided to trust the great reviews which Cosmopolitan had and hire them to do the job. I must say that I was very nervous about hiring the wrong people for such an important installation. The installation went very smoothly and they began as scheduled at 8am and had everything completed by the afternoon. We haven't had any issues with the new furnace or AC and we've even noticed a big decrease in our monthly bills. They are about half as much now. I was told this would happen but to be honest I thought it was just a sales pitch. I should add that I had to contact the company regarding a rebate error. They forgot to send in for an additional 150 Lennox rebate for the particular model of furnace we bought which the rep had promised us. Kevin (I think that was his name) was really fast to respond and apologized. He put the rebate through asap and we received everything else just as promised including the 150 that they initially forgot. I couldn't be happier because I have a great new Lennox furnace and AC that work great and for a very competitive price. I didn't really want to go with any other name other than Lennox and this company is able to offer this product at a fair and reasonable price with top notch service. If we ever need a new AC or furnace again I know who I will call. I should add one thing that I felt was a negative, the installers left sharp cut triangular pieces of duct metal all around the room where they installed. We were still finding them up until last month and feel they should have done a better job cleaning up after themselves. These pieces were very sharp and I have a young son but luckily nobody was injured by them. If I had known this would happen I would have definetely asked them to make sure to clean up carefully and not leave anything sharp laying around. Just a heads up for anyone else who's getting their furnace installed.
