The inducer motor started making unhealthy noise last Thursday night. I called Reliance and scheduled an appointment for late afternoon on Friday. The furnace quit completely about an hour before Vince from Reliance arrived. He was affable, considerate and demonstrated that he knew his trade by promptly identifying the problem (the inducer motor was burnt out). While no parts where available at the time (it was after hours for parts stores at this time), Vince located the part needed and had it to my home early next morning. I am very happy with my experience with Reliance Home Comfort and feel that the furnace/AC repair plan that I have through them is money well spent.

I and my neighbour had four quotes provided by different roofing companies before choosing Twin Peaks Roofing Inc. Top quality work was provided by Twin Peaks that began when Tim came to evaluate my roof which was in need of immediate patching due to a roof leak and required new shingles across my home's roof and that of my neighbour's roof, which are joined by our semi-detached homes. Tim was professional, courteous, and informative as he answered my questions and concerns about the leak and the roof's shingle replacement. I and my neighbour appreciated the fact that he took the time to carefully inspect the entire roof before making any recommendations. He outlined different options for types of shingles, explained the advantages of each option and the work that would be done. Once the contract was signed, I had someone back within a day to seal the roof leak until the new roof shingles could be installed. The condition of my roof was taken into consideration and as a result the installation date was moved up a few weeks to meet the immediate need for replacement - this was deeply appreciated. On the date of installation, the crew arrived in the early morning and got to work. They too were professional, courteous and efficient. Minor delays in delivery of shingles (by and independent company) caused the actual initiation of shingling to be delayed. This was outside of their control, and as a result, the job could not be finished that day. Due to impending rain, the roof which was half completed was made water tight and the crew cleaned up and left for the day. I was contacted by Tim later that night who let me know that the owner of Twin Peaks, Max, was coming out that evening to personally ensure that the roof was water tight. This was unexpected and in my opinion a further reflection of the lengths that this company will go that extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. That opinion was strengthened by the company's willingness to install solar powered roof vents I had purchased, at no extra cost. Poor weather (rain) delayed the roofing installation by one day, but the day after, the rain let up and the work was completed. My neighbour and I were completely satisfied with the quality of work done on the joined roof. Clean up was thorough, from beginning to end, of eaves troughs, lawns and driveways. I liked the fact that it was a trailer style bin for waste that was used, as opposed to a large metal container that could potentially cause driveway damage. I will not hesitate to recommend Twin Peaks Roofing to work colleagues, family members and friends. My father has already signed a contract with Twin Peaks to have his roof done in the next two weeks, as has the office administrator at my place of work. Outstanding service. Thank you.

What could this company do to improve their services?
The one aspect of the job should be changed is to put a piece of wood or something else that is soft under the support of the trash bin's trailer hitch area rather than resting the metal foot support on the ground, which left a slight groove in the asphalt.

The second serviceman who arrived to rectify problems resulting from my initial visit from Reliance, named Kevin, did an outstanding job and if he had been the first person to arrive, I would have given Reliance a 10 rating. The reason that it shows as a 5 now is that I averaged the initial review rating I did for Homestars for Reliance with the 10 that I believe Kevin earned for the company. All problems noted in the following review were addressed and rectified; he went out of his way to get the job properly done. If you have any furnace servicing performed by Reliance, request Kevin; I don't believe that you will be disappointed. Having said that, read on.... ================================================= The first serviceman arrived on time and was friendly and courteous. He worked at my home for approximately half an hour to 45 minutes, and walked me through a checklist of services once he was done, while the furnace was open for inspection. Being a layman, I accepted what he told me as far as the services that were listed on the checklist as having been provided and any recommendations for protection plans available through Reliance Home Comfort. That night, I went downstairs to see what type of filter had been used to replace my current air filter. I was surprised to find that it was the original filter that I had put there three weeks earlier; there was no filter replacement, which was part of the service for which I paid. I became curious, and checked the interior of the furnace compartment itself. While the interior had received a cursory vacuuming, there was still plenty of dust evident throughout the interior surfaces of the furnace. The blower motor's air intake was caked with dust; it had not been cleaned. The checklist showed that the furnace humidifier had been set for a summer setting, which it was not (it was still set to high humidity, as was the setting for air intake from the humidifier, allowing a/c air to flow back down into the furnace via the humidifier outtake duct). The drain hose for the furnace was not inspected.... I removed the silicone seal from around the connection to the drain pipe and removed a partial clog myself. I contacted the company to see what could be done to resolve these issues; a different serviceman was sent to evaluate the service that was provided. I used an online WagJag coupon to have my furnace tuned up, and received what I would consider to be a discounted service.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Fulfill their obligation to provide quality service on the first visit. I am in the service industry as well, and the best maxim of which I can think is, "Do the work as if it was in your own home."
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Visit HomeStars beforehand and check the reviews. I did not know of HomeStars prior to this service, but I will be using them in the future prior to calling home repair services.

I used a coupon service online (Dealfind? WagJag?... one of those sites) to get the air conditioning tuned up, after owning it for ten years. The serviceman showed up on time. From the time that he started his service until he finished, he demonstrated professionalism, courtesy, competency and well developed communication skills. Over the 1.5 hours that he was at my home, he walked me through the means by which to efficiently cool my home, maintain my a/c unit as well as money saving tips for maintenance and electricity. BOSCO will be receiving my business for air conditioning, heating and water heater service in the future. An excellent company. I was considering another company for a home maintenance package who had serviced my furnace with a tune up the day before, also through an online coupon offer. However, after inspecting the results yesterday evening, I was underwhelmed by the level of work that was done. Yes, it was a service paid by a WagJag coupon, but what I received was a discounted service. The BOSCO serviceman agreed. I recommend BOSCO to any and all folks in the Brampton area. My personal thanks goes to Tom Anthony, BOSCO's representative who attended to the service at my home today.
