I signed up for solar panels thru Blue Power's rent to own program. Thought they were a reputable company and their program sounded very good at 80.2 cents per KW. System was installed in July of 2011. Right off the bat the inverter was malfunctioning so they sent the company that installed the system to replace parts of inverter. The system did not ever make the amount that they required for the rent of the system. It was short on making enough money to cover the rent by about 200 to 300 dollars on the july payment as well as all the other months were short as well. This was suppose to be 70/30 split of what the system generated not prorated payments. The salesmen and the VP of operations both said the same thing 70/30 split of what is generated. My system is a 5 KW and has been installed14 months and hasn't even come close to generating 5,000 dollars worth of income. We then decided to buy the system because of the rent to own being so flawed. In June of 2012 I was cleaning my eaves troughs when I noticed a lot of damage to the shingles in the area of where the solar panels were installed. I contacted Blue power the person in charge said that they would not fix the damage that they caused to the shingles. I would have thought that they would have inspected the roof first before going ahead with installing this product and leaving their customer in this state. Buyer beware on this business. Once they have your money you could possibly be on your own.

Approximate cost of services:
