We had our hardwood floor restained by Flooring Office. They were quick to reply to our request on HomeStars, quoted a fair price, and seemed to be pleasant. That quickly changed after we started to identify issues with the quality of the work: uneven tones, pooling of stain, and stain splatter up the walls, baseboards, doors, stair risers and new wardrobe cabinetry. Were no strangers to renovations but we were shocked at the poor workmanship and their response. When we identified issues, they accused us of knit picking, and refused to visit the house until the project was done as we didnt pay for their gas. "We got what we paid for" is what we were told. Unprofessional. Would avoid.

The client wanted us to mix different types of stains for his floor we had previously warned him about the possible outcome as it is not good practice to do that. He confirmed with us that this is exactly how he wanted it, I asked him to sign a waiver in order for us not to have any further implications. As expected the stains were shot right back out and this is why he is complaining about the pooling. We are very reputable in the area, as you can see in our other reviews.
After this job, it was evidently clear that we needed to build relationships with our clients vs getting all the jobs we could. We had a terrible experience with this client in terms of payment and scheduling, along with all the outrageous requests he asked us to do.
