I called Alpine to repair my eavestrough and install aluminum flashing in September 2020. I got a quote and promptly signed and returned the paperwork. I did not hear a word from the company until November 2020 when (after I called to check the status of my job) a representative replied to my email saying that the job should be done "sometime next week" and that "We will call you the day before." As I write this review, It is March 29th 2021 and the job never got done. I cancelled the work order after waiting for 6 months. Alpine has done good work for me in the past, but their scheduling system (or lack of it) and the absence of communication has forced me to look elsewhere. Paying customers deserve to know exactly when the work will be done, not given some vague "guesstimate" on when (if ever) the job will be completed. The four stars are for the actual work crews, who did a great job and for Robert, the estimator who was excellent!

Gordon & Josh arrived at my home early. They were friendly and professional throughout their time on the job. Both of them were able to remove a huge amount of clutter from my basement in an efficient manner. These two guys did not stop working until the job was done and kept me posted as to how much space was used in the truck so that I did not over pay. I will call 1-800-rid-of-it for my next job. Gordon & Josh are fantastic!

DMC,

How are you enjoying that space in the basement now that the junk is gone? Very pleased to hear how well it went and that we were able to keep you within budget. We will let the guys know you were happy with the service they provided.

I hired two men and a truck to move an antique dining room set to my home in Toronto. They came via recommendation from a friend. They called on the day of the job asking if they could go up to the point of departure earlier than scheduled which was problematic because I had arranged for someone to be there at a specific time window. At the point of departure, the seller of the furniture noticed that the men were stacking the chairs and putting them on top of the table. She suggested wrapping each chair individually in blankets on the floor of the truck. The men complied with her request, but made her sign a waver stating that the company would not be responsible for damages caused. However, when the table arrived at my home, there were significant areas of damage to the finish on the tabletop. I had been to the seller's home just the day before the move to inspect the table and the finish on the tabletop was flawless. Damage MUST have occurred in transport. Overall, I am less than impressed with the service provided. I now have to have the tabletop refinished when I should not have to do so.

I called 1 800 Rid Of It because of a referral from a friend. Lucas and Doug came to do the job. Both men were polite, and efficient. I had many bulky, heavy items that I needed removed from my home and they did it in less than 30 minutes! I am impressed by the service provided and I will not hesitate to use 1 800 Rid Of It in the future. Thank you for getting rid of it! D.S. Toronto

We chose Bill and his team to replace the original knob and tube wiring in our 100+ year old home based on the excellent reviews his company had on Homestars. The quote given by KNT was accurate and transparent. Bill advised us every time an addition to the original quote was required and was completely understanding and helpful when change orders were requested. He was upfront and truthful when he told us that our lath and plaster walls could be saved. (This was after asking two other contractors if they would work with plaster, only to be told that they needed to be TORN OUT!) KNT staff arrived on time (in fact they were early every day) they are friendly and are always willing to accommodate the homeowner's requests. They are respectful of personal property and take their time to clean up after each work day. Bill and KNT truly restored our faith in contractors as we have had unpleasant experiences in the past with unscrupulous tradesmen. KNT went above and beyond what they were asked to do and did an excellent job restoring and installing our antique light fixtures. Bill even included small things free of charge, including the installation of extra protection when it was found that our walls contained SAWDUST. The staff at KNT electric are fast, efficient, professional and courteous. This is everything anyone would want in a contractor. We would not hesitate to recommend KNT Electric to anybody with a vintage home that needs knob and tube replacement. KNT will be our electricians of choice from now on. If you hire them, you will not be disappointed! Dean S. Toronto Ont.
