We needed to replace a rotting front porch and decided it would be a good time to replace the concrete slab walkway. On the recommendation of our general contractor we contacted Keith for a quote for the walkway and the abutting driveway interlock which had started to shift and sink on one side. We had a good idea of what we wanted done and after brainstorming with Keith came up with a firm plan. Keith also suggested the stone company and brought samples. One the contract was signed, we didn’t hear from Keith for almost 4 weeks and had to follow-up with him to find out when work was to commence. Once we had a date, the crew arrived as scheduled at 7:30. Keith had told us he felt it was a one day job, and had the crew stayed until 7pm, as other reviewers have said they did, i’m sure that would have been the case. They left their equipment on our driveway overnight and came back the next morning to finish up. Despite a few glitches, we were very satisfied with the end result - until our new porch steps were being built and we discovered the stone step had not been laid in the correct position. It was out by 2 inches. Our contractor couldn’t install the post for our new steps and there was no way to fix it other than moving the stone steps. This was entirely the crews error. Long story short, after some delays we met with Keith. He didn’t offer to remove everything and make it right, even though that’s the job we paid for. His solution was to move the step into the correct position and cut the walkway on one side to compensate, ruining the pattern. He didn’t offer to fix the problem that would result on the other side of the walkway. That was entirely unacceptable. We were frustrated and needed the project completed. My contractor said moving the stone 1” instead of two would allow him to install the post and stairway, although they would no longer be centred on the stone step. That was the fix we agreed to so that we could move forward without further delays. So, while the crew was great, the work was carried out in a timely manner and the quality of work seemed to be very good, the devil is in the details. Our rating is largely a result of the poor post- installation experience.

I would not recommend this company which, according to their website, sells windows as well as kitchen cabinetry. They took our deposit and then would not honor our contract. The deposit was not refunded and we had to go elsewhere for our windows - at considerable additional expense. If their website is to be believed, they are still in business. I am not sure how this is possible when they had such serious financial difficulties that they couldn't refund our deposit or fulfill the contract. We were not the only ones to be duped. Don't add your name to the list.

When we decided to renovate our dated kitchen, I solicited a number of companies and in the end selected Deslaurier for the better design, selection and years of experience. Their price was comparable - neither the highest nor the lowest. Our kitchen is not quite finished, but the cabinetry has been installed. From design to installation to inspection, Deslaurier has exceeded our expectations. Our installer, Chris, was a top-notch professional. Installation was done on time and of very high quality. A few nicks and chips to be repaired, but nothing glaringly amiss. You have to expect that there will be some minor adjustments/repairs. It takes knowledge and experience to pull off a functional design in a small space with awkward angles and Marc rose to the challenge. He also understood that I knew best what would work for me. Every renovation is stressful and there are always unexpected issues. The Deslaurier team has been very understanding and responsive in addressing these. Highly recommend.

Took over our job to install window walls when other supplier took our money and didn't deliver. Our kitchen reno hung in the balance. Extremely desperate, I contacted Nuden. Mark met me within a day, understood our circumstances and delivered in spades. Our kitchen reno saved from disaster. This company rocks! I will deal with them again and highly recommend.

I believe the true measure of service excellence can be found when conditions are not ideal. Having said that, this company continues to disappoint when we need them most. Although their website says that they will make a "first pass" when significant snowfall is anticipated, this is NOT the service we receive. In fact, we have had to resort to shoveling parts of the driveway by hand in order to drive our cars. Repeated contact with the company has not resulted in any meaningful improvement.

Hello, We don't have any clients with your name in our system, so feel free to call our office directly with any issues you may have.

For each major storm this year, we provided a minimum of 3, and usually 4 passes over a 36 hour period. So what you have described does not make any sense. This being said, both of the last 2 storms were very difficult to clear in a timely fashion for snow removal contractors across the Ottawa area.
