Note to those in Hamilton, they charge a 75$ fee just for an estimate!I called and requested a quote a few months ago and this was not the case. This will be enough for me never to use them again (not to mention the reason we previously didn't use them was because they were the most expensive)

Company Response

Hello Adam
We have always charged a $75 truck charge for an estimate in Hamilton. We tell all of our customers once they place the call so they are not shocked when we show up. However, if there is any work done with the customer then the $75 truck charge is waived.

We decided to paint our living room and entry hallway and to hire a professional to help us with the job. We were recommended the Painter Girls by some neighbours, got a quote which seemed affordable and got booked the job. This company is anything but professional! The one thing we cannot take away from them is they fit us in relatively quickly during a busy period for painters. However, the one girl came and committed to painting the two spaces as planned. She freehanded the entire job and at the end of day 1 she was "finished" with one of the rooms ( even though she did not paint the bedroom doors which are part of this space and were written into our contract). However, the trim was visibly wavy on the walls throughout the space, visible even at a distance. We mentioned this to the painted on day 2 of the job, and she corrected it, but then left mid-day, saying that she would return another time to do the hallway because she did not feel she had time to finish in the afternoon. When we tried to reschedule with the "scheduler" we were told that we would be put on the wait list, and when we asked to be scheduled firmly even if it had to be a later date, we were told that they did not think they were the right painters for us. Professionalism is definitely not in these girls' vocabulary, and neither is a job well done. It was one thing that the paint job was sloppy, but then they misled us into thinking we would have the actual job completed, we were misled to our faces and over email by two different girls. Would not recommend to our enemies!

We would like to thank Homestars for their help in introducing us to their site, and to Adam for posting his review. We regret and take responsibility for Adams adverse experience with us. It is a fact that on the rare occasion, minds cannot be met. To us, the inaccuracies as we see them in Adams review reflect our failure to communicate in full our reason for not being able to continue doing business with him. We will say for our future customer’s information that all of our jobs are done “freehand”, meaning we don’t use tape for cutting in/edges unless absolutely necessary, and the lines do not look perfect until the final coat. If you need a job done quickly we do our best to fit you in however since we are a small company of only 3 girls, you may deal with one of us over the phone, and the other doing the work according to our schedule that week. Although this has only happened once, we reserve the right to remove ourselves from situations we are not comfortable in. Our experience as The Painter Girls in so many people’s homes has been overwhelmingly positive for the past 11 years. This is a good chance for us to say thank you to all of our customers, our business has grown and become successful through your continued referrals and we look forward to future painting adventures. We have used Ian several times now for pot light installation, light fixture replacement and installing new light switches. He is fast, responsive, professional, and honest. He gives you the prices ahead of time, with no surprise costs at the end of the project and his prices are competitive. He has a sense of responsibility for his projects which you don't get from other contractors: he installed some light switches which caused flickering of the lights, he contacted the manufacturer to seek a solution, and when the manufacturer confirmed their product was defective, he came back and replaced the switches at no cost! His is truly trustworthy and professional, knowledgeable and friendly! We will continue to use him for any and every electrical work!

We hired Metro Gas to install our appliances, a few gas lines and some risers for our laudry and dryer. Nick (owner and installer) was difficult to schedule with, it seems he is unable to manage his schedule or book time more than 1-2 days in advance making it impractical for managing around other engagements. He was rude and dismissive. I ended up with 3 scratches on my dryer, and when I pointed them out he dismissed it saying it was there before (which I know for a fact it wasn't). I trust his installation (as far as I can tell), but will not be working with this company again because overall the service was unpleasant and dismissive.
