Forgot to post this for a few months, but better late than never... We've been using Vinyl Leaf Windows and Doors for all our window/door repairs since 2013. We had a minor issue with our front storm door, and as always, Nick came by to assess the situation and reassure us that the repair would be easy, cost-effective and timely. And it was. Another great, pro job completed again by Vinyl Leaf. Thanks Nick!

My 1958-built bungalow was in need of serious tuckpointing in the front-facing brickwork. There were also some major cracks in our cement stairs requiring repair and a small parging job needed around our porch. Phong and Teo from Brick Aid Masonry came highly recommended, and they did Not disappoint. They were flexible with a convenient time to come do the work (once the winter weather had passed); and were fantastic professionals. The price was reasonable and they took the time needed to ensure all the work was done to the level necessary. The bonus? Aside from being expert craftsmen, Phong and Teo are great people. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Brick Aid Masonry for all your brickwork / masonry needs.

The recent windstorm blew a few rows of shingles off my roof and left exposed wood. This was quickly followed by heavy rains which began leaking into our home, all in the span of 24 hours. I happened upon RoofRepairs.ca after reading glowing reviews about their service. I called right away and within two hours, Kim called me back to get all my info and schedule an appointment. The next "fastest" callback I had from a competitor was literally the next day... AFTER the folks at RoofRepairs.ca had completed the work. And what great work it was. In an industry that unfortunately has proven itself to be less-than-reliable and/or honest in its service, I am happy to attest that there IS a solid company out there that you can trust for roofing needs -RoofRepairs.ca! Not only did they provide a fully professional, fair-priced job on the repair itself, but they also went above and beyond in customer service. From the first moment of speaking with Kim on the phone, you know right away you're dealing with a quality, family-owned company that takes pride in its work and relationships with its clients. Her calm demeanor and exceptional professionalism helped ramp down my panic about my roof and the leakage, and helped dispel my fears. She then scheduled Dennis and Jeff to come to my home first-thing the next morning to do the repairs. They came earlier than expected (a GOOD thing!) and they did the job quickly, efficiently and honestly - showing me pictures of the impacted areas and the finished repair. Though I didn't meet him, RoofRepairs.ca owner Brad should take immense pride in the fact that his family-run, small roofing business outshines any competitor and all the "major" roofing companies out there that we've ever dealt with. During a cold snap last week, my front door deadbolt seized and my family was unable to enter or leave our home. After attempting to be a "handy man" and taking the plate cover off, I realized I was out of my depth. That's when I asked Homestars to recommend the top locksmiths in my area. Almost immediately, John from Protection Plus called me, asked me the situation, gave a best/worst case scenario quote range over the phone and said he could be at my home withing 20 minutes. When he arrived, John was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and bang-on with his assessment of our lock. It was fixed at the lower end of his initial estimated cost scale (after I had been told over the phone by a couple of other "pro" locksmiths that the deadbolt was a write-off and would cost much more to replace). John and his assistant were pros all the way and honest about the work that was needed, along with providing helpful tips about maintenance for future reference. And a great warranty on the work done too, should anything happen to the lock in the next while. All in all, John and the Protection Plus team showed what customer service is when done the right way. This review is to help guide those of you who look for what we do in a renovation company. We were very pleased with Zoran and Renocom for the following reasons: 1 – Zoran worked with us to create a design that made sense for our family and budget. As an example, we wanted custom cabinetry. He encouraged us to instead use Ikea, save money and use the savings for something else. He made no commission on this but just listened to what we wanted and our budgetary concerns. In the end, the cabinetry could not be more beautiful and we are so pleased with other areas that we spent on (example, custom molding to the ceiling). 2 – Zoran and his partner, Joe, were in our home for 6 weeks. They were respectful and did their best to make it as comfortable for us as could be in a small home. We are so grateful for this. The process was as painless as could be. 3 – Mistakes happen. Perhaps due to miscommunication, perhaps due to contractor error and perhaps something I am missing. I did not worry about any of that. Zoran tended to all ‘mistakes’ until we were satisfied. I am fully satisfied with my kitchen and our friends/family that see it are equally as impressed. 4 – Zoran offers you his perspective on how to balance a beautiful design with pragmatics and cost efficiency. It is a valuable service he offers and it is free of charge. We advise you to take advantage. We look forward to our next project with him!

The folks at RoofRepairs.ca provided outstanding professionalism, customer service and reassurance after we discovered a section of our roof had blown off during a nasty windstorm. We called in a panic after normal business hours; and from our initial consult over the phone with the amazing Kim to the actual repair to our roof by Ronald (a true roofing pro if we've ever seen one!) less than 24 hours later - the job was done quickly and expertly. Ronald truly knows his stuff and managed to patch our area of shingles within an hour, all while a snowstorm was starting to come down. His cool, calm and collected demeanour was just what we needed to see and hear when he walked us through the repair and his inspection of the rest of the roof, to let us know all was well. We also cannot say enough about Kim, who was very understanding about our situation and helped ensure we knew the fix would happen in as fast a time as possible, given the lateness of when we discovered the damage. Homestars has become our website of choice for sourcing reliable, well-reviewed and professional contractors of all sorts. On the rare occasion we've come across a company or independent contractor who does not live up to the standards we - and many others - have come to expect from Homestars advice. All-in-all, this is THE premier website for referrals and peace-of-mind when we need any major or minor home repairs done. I would, and do, recommend this site for anyone who needs to make a confident decision about a contractor (as long as they do their homework by reading reviews on the site and avoiding low-rated companies or independents).

This was our second round of renovations where we used Nick and his crew to do needed repairs to our home. We needed to replace our front door and insert a small window into the side door of our house. (Last time, Nick and his team replaced all our front windows to repair a shoddy job left by the previous home-owners). Once again, Nick and his crew did not disappoint. The quote was fair and the work was done in the time they said it would take; done with complete professionalism and to our satisfaction. Nick is always on time, brings veteran workmen with him to the job, cleans up after the work and is open to discuss any issues at any point during the work. The end result, once again, is a fantastic and solid job on our doors and windows. We had an unexpected foundation crack and subsequent water seepage into our basement. After calling numerous, more "established" waterproofing companies out there, we couldn't even get a return call from some and no commitment to help from others. That's when we found Aquamaster, led by Fedor. After explaining our situation - which needed a rush job - Fedor, who was at all times professional and understanding, said he and his crew could come on short notice to assess and start the job. The crew arrived as promised. Fedor was fair in his pricing and work begun on digging around the perimeter of our house and waterproofing. The work was done quickly, efficiently, cleanly, expertly; and Fedor was always accessible for any questions or explanations. I would highly recommend Aquamaster to anyone in need of waterproofing services. Although no one wants to have this type of situation happen to their home, if/when it does, Fedor and his Aquamaster team should be the first number you call.

We had an incredibly challenging clean-up in the basement apartment of our home. The place had accumulated a lot of grime, mold stains, and dirt everywhere over a few years, without being looked after very well be a tenant. We asked Aida Sara to come and do the best she and her crew could to make the place look, smell and feel livable again. Aida Sara's service surpassed our expectations! The crew were efficient and professional and cleaned the area so thoroughly. Truly, more than we thought humanly possible. Would definitely recommend her service to anyone looking for a right, proper clean-up. Just a fantastic job, well-done.

There are times when you find a contractor you can trust, one who you just know will get the job done professionally, properly and with integrity. That contractor is Mike and his company, Sonoma. Two years out from the superb, complete basement reno he and his fine crew did for us, and I still can call or email him with a quick concern or question -- and he answers with as much helpfulness as possible. IF you have basement reno on the horizon or are even contemplating one, look no further than Sonoma Contracting. You won't find better.

I recently had to have an emergency repair to my roof for a missing shingle which was causing a severe leak through my bedroom ceiling. Given inclement weather, and a refusal by the initial roofing company to send someone out to repair the roof, I found The Roof Whisperer. They agreed to send a crew of two out to my home at the end of the day to assess and repair. They arrived relatively promptly, which was fine. They found a missing shingle, repaired it, and stopped the leak. Again, all fine. However, aside from the seemingly exorbitant charge (approx. $500) for showing up for about 30 mins to repair the shingle and look around, there were serious issues with the company's professionalism and integrity. Firstly, after the repair, the crew members each told my wife and i that they anticipated massive damage to our attic and insulation. They pushed for us to create a follow-up call the next day on the insinuation that if we didn't get them back out, we could be looking at a $50K roof/attic/insulation repair. They also showed us pictures of the damaged portion of the roof they repaired and promised to email the pictures to us so we could have it on file to collect on warranty and insurance. Yet, when we tried to a) book a follow-up, there was no answer (by email or phone) and b) despite multiple calls and emails, no pictures were ever forwarded in the nearly 2 weeks since the repair. Thankfully, we never did get the follow-up. Instead, we had an independent contractor look in our attic (something the Roof Whisperer crew members didn't even do!) and determined we have no issues to worry about. So, in sum - Pros: They showed up when we had an emergency call. Cons: Scare tactics. No follow-up support. Exorbitant billing. Based on this one service call, I would not recommend this company.

Kids Interior Design Store (K.I.D.S.) was a pleasure to shop and purchase at from the moment we stepped into the store. Helpful service, quality products and selection. Our bunk bed arrived within the delivery time and the set-up was done speedily and professionally. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to purchase kids furniture.
