I have used Green & Spotless twice to replace caulking around bathtubs. Both times they did their work well and on time as promised. Both times the caulking remained in good condition and mould free (not the case when I did it myself!). Once there was a tiny spot that developed a hole and they came quickly and repaired the spot at no charge. In my experience, they are honest and trustworthy and do what they say that they will do. I am very happy with their service. They also cleaned a carpet and a sofa and did a good job with those as well.

I live in an older home and was looking into doing an energy assessment after receiving a pamphlet from Enbridge. Energuy was one of their recommended contractors. When inspection day arrived, I got my first hint that there was a problem. The inspector's greeting was "I hear you are replacing your furnace". Nope. He had a note from the office saying that we were. I indicated that we were looking for help in prioritizing which repairs would make the most sense for our home. At the end of his visit, we received a one-page receipt that indicated "important next steps" on which almost every possible upgrade was checked (including replacing our boiler). We were told that we had only 120 days to do any upgrades but that the actual report would not be received for four weeks. In fact, it was one month and 9 days before we received the report. In the meantime, we called various contractors for quotes. Insulation contractors suggested that installing insulation in the basement and main walls (two of the top recommendations) would be crazy as it would be ineffective unless we gutted the whole house (not in our plans). They also indicated that the GreenON rebates are far more appropriate for our home. When I contacted Energuy about this, they stated that "someone told them that I would be replacing my furnace" and that they have no responsibility to tell me that their service is not appropriate for me. I was the only one who spoke to them, and certainly never indicated any plans to replace the boiler as it is relatively new. I have had many contractors recommend against work if they felt that it would not be suitable. Those contractors instantly gain my respect, and I would recommend them without hesitation. Energuy really didn't seem to care if their service was going to work for me. They asked me if I thought that Home Depot would recommend Lowe's. When I finally received my report, it was full of errors. It states that we have Central Air Conditioning (we do not) and a gas fired fire-place (nope). When it talks about "Your Household Operating Conditions" compared to the "Standard Operating Conditions" it got my household size and heating settings wrong. The inspector said that the report would set out the potential cost savings per upgrade. It does not. The report might be easy to read for an engineer, but not for a consumer. If you are looking to make energy efficiency changes, save your money and use a contractor who will apply for GreenON rebates on your behalf. No "energy audit" required. This company really doesn't care if the customer is happy. My impression is that they see the gas company as the one to please, not the homeowner.

I was happy with the quoting process. The installation was efficient and friendly. However, there was one issue that significantly coloured my satisfaction. When I ordered, I indicated that I want the option of having a window open at night. Corey indicated that this would not be a problem and that he would have the modification made. He did not tell me anything about the modification. After installation, I discovered that this meant an unsightly cut in the frame such that I could have the blind left partially open. However, since you can only open one of the blinds and the screen at once, this is not a solution at all (I will not open a window without a screen!). When they called to inquire about my satisfaction, I explained the problem. They fully agreed that this was not a good solution and that it would be passed on to Corey. He never got back to me. The company did, however, send me a letter asking for a positive review and offering to send me a cheque for $50 for a positive review. Thus any buyers should be suspicious of positive reviews. Edited to add: Following this review, I was contacted promptly by the company. While there were initially a lot of angry accusations against me (not cool!), when I was finally transferred to the company owner, he was quick to visit himself and arrange for a visit by their post installation team. Orchid was competent and was able to modify the bedroom window so that it did what I had originally asked. She also made adjustments to two screens so that they slide more easily. Talking to her and to the owner, it was clear that there is a stronger commitment to post-installation follow-up care than I experienced initially. I think that there is still room for improvement to avoid the types of problems that I had, but I am reasonably confident that this is a company that cares about product quality and that will aim to fix problems. Unfortunately, the person calling to check on satisfaction initially never passed my concerns on to either sales or service and left me with the impression that the problem could not be fixed.

We hired Duggan to waterproof two sides of our home. The first side had to be hand dug due to the proximity to the neighbours, but it was done quickly and efficiently. They were able to start the job within a day of our decision to use their crew. The second side had to be dug under a porch and through concrete. The neighbours had warned us about contractors who tried to do a quick job by not digging all the way down to the footings (and in fact Duggan discovered that this had taken place in the past on our property). Duggan did the job properly. They take pride in their work and do it quickly and well. They clean up well and put everything back including any plants that they had to move. At the end of each day they left the site secure so I never had to worry about kids or pets getting into the hole. I also appreciated the fact that they were willing and able to give updates and answer questions as they arose. We would recommend Duggan without hesitation.

We needed several pot lights replaced and a switch repaired. We contacted others who would not even quote this small job, but Manuel stopped by promptly, provided a reasonable quote and arranged a time to get the work done. He and his assistant got the job done in a timely manner and were careful not to wake my sleeping child while they went about their work. I am pleased with the finished product and will call them again when I need an electrician.
