Okay. As much as I was tempted to give a lesser review because of his price, I can't do it. Tyler charges a little more than I was hoping to pay and I expect if I had shopped around I could have found a better price. But having said that, I hired him knowing the price. I hired him because of his MANY good reviews and because (most importantly) he was willing to do the job even though it was going to cut into his personal time. On a Friday morning I woke to no water (5:30 am). I did as much troubleshooting as I could on my own and then I started calling people who I thought might be able to change my well pump. Drain Right Now was my second call at roughly 10:00 am (I had been out buying and installing a control box prior to making the calls). I got his machine which suggested that I should text if I need him. I dropped him a quick explanation by text and kept looking. I called approximately 12 other companies and virtually none of them answered their phones so I left messages. The couple who did answer were happy to come out "some time next week". and one who did answer said he'd love to help but was swamped and tried to walk me through the trouble shooting I had already done (effort counts). In the midst of those calls Tyler texted back asked for a few photos and what I had done so far. He came to the same conclusion as I had and offerred a price to replace the pump. I found the price high and so I hoped one of the others might be a little easier on the pocketbook. After some time, it became clear that the others were too busy to (or not interested in) helping me. I let Tyler know I would be interested in his service and he told me he'd make it over "that evening" (guessing after 5). As happens in the service trade, the job he was on took longer than he expected and so he couldn't get to me on Friday evening, so he pushed it forward to Saturday around noon. Saturday he showed (on time). He was very likeable (that counts). As expected, he double checked my work and redid the troubleshooting I had done the day before. He came to the same conclusion as the day before. I gave him a hand hauling the old pump out (easier with 2 bodies) mostly so I could see what he was doing (just in case I'm ever in need of doing this again). He did everything I "expected" him to do (youtube is your friend) and he did a few things that he should do that I hadn't expected (youtube isn't perfect). He did everything well. I gave him a hand putting the pump back in the well (again easier with 2 bodies). He closed up the well, provided me with the paperwork and I paid him. Now, I still believe he charged more than I thought the job ought to cost, but let me be absolutely clear about this. The most important part of this job (to me) was that it be done well and "now". In spite of a few of those earlier phone calls (to other companies) being returned (either late on the Friday or early on the Saturday) Tyler was by far the most willing to help me out of my jam. Being without drinking water in a house with 4 people is a minor inconvenience. Not being able to flush the toilet in a house with 4 people is almost criminal. So, while I paid more than I might have been comfortable paying under normal circumstances, there is no doubt in my mind that if my neighbour (or a total stranger) had this same problem I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tyler. When something like that happens you need someone who is capable and willing to help. If it happens to cost a little more to get it done right and right now, that's a cost I'm willing to pay. If you need the job done right, call Drain Right Now. Seriously! Why aren't you dialing?

When my A/C stopped working, I naturally ran out and tried to diagnose the problem. I checked this and that and everything else I could think of. Then I wondered who I might call. I first thought to call the original installer. He was a pretty good guy but I had flashes of hundred dollar service calls. Then I remember Lou (who had previously done my ductwork for my new addition). He was a good guy and made an effort to save me some bucks with the ductwork job so I figured I'd give him a call. Being Friday evening (around 8 pm) I figured to leave him a voicemail and wait for him to get back to me on Monday. Much to my surprise, he answered the phone. I introduced myself and mentioned the job he had done for me previously and he instantly knew who I was, what he had done and what I did for a living (which is a testament to his memory because half the time I can't remember where I was yesterday let alone 2 years ago). In any case, I describe to him what I had checked and what seemed to be the issue as well as what the A/C was doing (aside form not cooling). After a couple of quick questions he suggested that I try a replacement run Capacitor (after explaining how to test the current one if I had the proper tools). He suggested where I might look locally to find the capacitor. Unfortunately the shop he suggested is no longer there (but that's to be expected now and again). So Saturday morning I spent some time trying to locate a supplier with the capacitor in stock who was open on Saturday. I eventually found one and grabbed the capacitor, came home, replaced the original and once again I have functional air conditioning. So thanks again to Lou (and while I appreciate that virtually any A/C service person "could" probably have given me the same information, I'm not too sure how many wouldn't have made an "emergency service call" just to tell me they couldn't get the part until Monday. Thanks again Lou. You were my ductwork guy, and now you're my anything HVAC related guy. I can't stress enough for you readers out there. If you want to be treated right, by some guys that do great work, call Dave White Heating and Sheet Metal Ltd for all your HVAC needs.

I feel very fortunate to have found Dave White Heating & Sheet Metal Ltd. Having called a number of other people to price the job, Lou's price was the best and his explanations of what and how he intended to do the job, were the clearest and least deviant from the drawings they had to go by. A few unexpected turns during the job and a special request were all handled quickly and with a smile. They were even flexible enough to leave certain portions of the job for me so I could save a few dollars. I won't hesitate to tell anyone who needs ductwork of any kind to call. I don't need to tell you about prompt, polite, quality workmanship - just read all the other reviews. I generally hire a person because I "like" them, so I'm either a good judge of character or very lucky. Either way, I doubt you'll do much better than hiring this team, and believe me when I say you can do MUCH worse. I had a quote from a competitor (if I could really call them that) for almost twice as much that would have cost me a significant amount of headroom and wanted to take a number of shortcuts besides. I saved money and got a superb job done by qualified and likable people as well as some free advice. But most importantly, I found a company that I can feel free to recommend to anyone and everyone who needs ductwork and/or heating/cooling work done. Don't read another review until you call Lou. You won't regret it!
