We were shopping around for a new gas stove to replace our old "Franklin" style wood burning stove, that was a fair size (over 36" wide). So we went to several well regarded fireplace stores, but found that they did not have many direct vent gas stoves, and those they had were fairly small in width (24"). Then we found Fireplace Depot, on the Queensway, that had exactly what we were looking for - the Flame FX, about 32"wide, with a gorgeous bay window. Riz, the saleman/fireplace expert, really knew his stuff and was very helpful. The price was excellent, compared to what we had seen in other stores. We asked for a good crew for the install, and Riz sent Dom and Thomas, who did a terrific job. They arrived well ahead of time and did great, neat work, responding to every suggestion or question we had. The unit looks and performs fantastic. The touch screen remote to operate it is also very "cool". So, thanks to Riz and his entire team at Fireplace Depot.

Hi Homestars. This is a great site and how we found 416-So-CLEAN. We read the great reviews and called them. Scheduling the appointment was tricky because we wanted to coordinate with taking the pup in to the vet. No problem with (SO-CLEAN), they accommodated our request right away. Adel and Matt arrived on time, were very professional and did an excellent job with both our wall to wall and area rug carpets. They took the time needed to get out a couple of tricky stains and left us with great instructions on next steps. Also left a container of spot remover. Overall, we were very impressed. One caution though, it was a very muggy (42 Humidex) day and with the door open and truck running - need to be cautious of CO entering house. But the air, or lack of outside, and the inability to open windows due to the heat, did not help the situation. Rob and Helen, North Etobicoke.

In 2000, we really thought we needed a full blown roof replacement. We called 3 roofers, including the "Enbridge-approved" contractor, who came to inspect and provide an estimate. The "Enbridge-approved" contractor did not even get up on the roof to do a proper inspection. One of the others did - one didn't. All were quick to agree that we needed a new roof: approx. cost $4-5K. A good friend at work insisted that I call Juffs Roofing before we made any commitment. I did, and was I ever glad that I did. I was fortunate that the owner, Mike Juff, carried out the very detailed inspection - he and I both went up on the roof where he took digital photos and showed me some areas that needed attention. He clearly stated that we did NOT need a new roof, but rather a "tune-up" at a fraction of the cost. He even made both of us go into the attic to check out the roof timber. I was so impressed with his candor that I promised whenever we DID need a new roof, that I would call no one else. I have just called Steve at Juffs for another inspection - 8 YEARS LATER!!! So, Mike was certainly correct that we did not need a new roof in 2000!!
