I first used mango Maids about a year ago when I had been very sick and needed some help. the service was excellent and the cleaning job was outstanding. I was so impressed I bought my boyfriend a gift certificate for Christmas for him to use when he wanted. it was for 3 hours cleaning which translates to 2 cleaners for 1.5 hours. I will never ever use them again... nor will my BF. He called to make the booking and told them he had a gift certificate. fine. he then received a call telling him he had to pay a deposit. He reminded them about the gift certificate next he gets a call telling him owes for the GST and they asked for his credit card # - they should have called me and or added the tax to the value to the gift certificate... next, two days before the scheduled appointment he gets an email confirming the appointment but at a much later then scheduled time. This was not acceptable as he had guests arriving from out of town. when he called they said it was moved due to staff meeting. no one called to ask or advise, they just changed it. He insisted that they honour the original time and two very competent and friendly cleaners arrived at the originally scheduled time. However they advised him that was going to have to pay for he extra hour and half? what extra hour and 1/2? the poor girl was put in a very difficult situation by her administration. she and her co-worker were booked for 6 hours of cleaning instead of 3 ( 3 hours instead of 1.5 for 2 cleaners) They did an excellent job and and left at the originally agreed upon and paid for 3 hours ( 1.5 hours) BF gets his credit card statement and sees that he has been charged for the service. Now very irriate he calls the service to complain and they check the records, sure enough they see that it was gift certificate and they promise to have the charges removed... which to date they have not been. What should have been a fun , positive experience turned into a customer service nightmare. I felt terrible that my gift had turned out so badly and the whole experience was a very negative one for us both. Mango maids Calgary needs to get its business in order and train it's adminstrative and billing staff. they have lost two customers and I will never ever use them again, and I will certainly not recommend them. I hope the excellent cleaners can find employment elsewhere !
