I bought a $54 Wag Jag coupon for KC Duct Services & read the fine print before hand. NO WHERE does it state that cold air return vents are considered extra vents. The company offers up to 13 vents for cleaning & we only have 10 which include 2 cold air vents. We were charged for 3 extra vents as they said one cold vent counted as 2! We were also charged $30 extra for supposedly have extra vents. They also did not check the AC coil nor use any deodorizing spray in the vents yet these items are outlined in services provided. My wife said all they were interested in was attempting to up sell. Why would we pay more when we didn't even receive the service we initially paid for?!

Company Response

Response on the complain above.
: We do not have any deal in Wagjag for $54, there is only one deal for $49.
: $54 deal is on Buytopia website for 15 heating vents and intake is additional $10 each.
: When customer called to book an appointment it was mentioned that he paid $54 which was understood by booking agent that's it a Buytopia deal not a Wagjag for $49 and was explained clearly about the deal.
: Voucher purchased by customer was not presented to our Tecnicians during the service. Which was considered as Buytopia deal.
: We denies that our technician was interested to up sell which is against our company policy, They inspected the system and showed the pictures in which system was full of dust and techician explained the consiquences of dusty system and decision is always on customers will.
: Customer lines were sanitized with the fogger machine in J channel which goes to each vent when the system runs.

Customer called before leaving this review and was decided that due to deal misunderstanding the difference amount will be refunded as e transfer.

I have to admit the original job was good and quick but I am annoyed with the lack of info that was given has to how much of the project was part of the quote. The furnace was replaced but as an after thought, I was told the base of the duct work that attaches to the furnace is another part. They then came back to replace the rusted portion but again failed to mention that the filter area was yet Another! part. That's when the problem started. The short of it is that I have been told on three different occasions, the last of which was to happen today, that someone would come back out to complete the job.It took 14 phone calls before someone bothered to call me back the last time. Each time, they failed to show up or call to make other arrangements, or simply apologize. I can't believe a simple $25.00 part and a half hr. job has lead me to this. If the sales rep. gave a bit more detailed info., this could have been avoided.

Approximate cost of services:
$5,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Educate potential customers as to what is/isn't involved. RETURN PHONE CALLS, Show up when they say they will, show basic customer service.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Ask detailed questions as to what they will replace.

Company Response

I found you in the files and I am going to respond to you based on the notes, we are under new management but I can see what we are dealing with
the customer has left out important details....
the items in dispute were never contracted for, we dont work for free.
the 14 phonecalls were directed at an employees cell phone and occurred in a 12 hour period....and the customer had contact numerous times.
the customer persisted to harass for several days and on one occasion belched into the phone for one message.
We feel a website like this can improve our business model,
but for some it is simple extortion "give me ,for free" or I will
call your good name into question.
this is an example of how a website such as this can be abused.
