We needed the upper main floor of our 60's home refinished and stair treads replaced. Our floors are red oak and original, so we wanted to preserve the flooring. I interviewed several companies before settling with AHF. One thing to consider is that for all other companies, I wasn't sure who would be doing the actual work. With AHF you actually get to meet Ken who does the refinishing, so you know that you are going to get someone that is actually skilled in the job. Ken was very considerate, responsive to our calls, and left the place tidy and clean each day. Everything sealed so there were no issues of dust. He definitely knows his trade and has been in the flooring business for his entire career. The quality of our floors look great, right up to the edges. The only thing I was a bit surprised at was the nails are very visible now that we have a clear coat, but hopefully the will disappear over time like the last finish that was on there. The best part is our stair treads, which look amazing. We chose to go with the Glitza product because it is known to last. So in summary, Ken did a great job, was trustworthy, and knows hardwood floors inside and out.

We have a very basic house built in the 60s, so it needed an update. Our project predominantly consisted of a new kitchen and bathroom, both down to the studs. The bathroom layout remained the same, but the kitchen involved moving doors and windows, and taking down a wall. We also ended up doing some cosmetic updates to our living room at the same time. We did approach several large and well advertised companies, but in some cases we almost felt embarrassed because of our older and small house. When we met Mark, we felt it was a good fit. Mark is very easy to talk to, and very down to earth. Yet at the same time, he exhibits professionalism, a willingness to do what is right, and an attitude of putting the customer first. As the general contractor, we feel he is very approachable. EA Renovations is not a large company (2 primary owners), but they also aren't a small one man operation either as they have some good trades they have access to. We give our kudo's to the electrician - young friendly guy, and looking at his wiring I liked what I saw. I am by no means an electrician, but I do know how to spot things that look fishy. In terms of quality, the advice I'd give to any home owner is to expect some hiccups and mistakes. Always be proactive in the work being done to your home. If you go in with the attitude that everything is going to be perfect with no issues, you'll be disappointed. There will be mistakes made (regardless of which company you use), but the good thing is if we brought it up with Mark, he did his best to resolve the issues and listen to our concerns. For example, some things that went wrong with our project included squeaking tub installation, miss-cut tiles for shower fixtures, and some drywall issues. In all cases, if we brought it up with Mark, he did his best to resolve the issues. We are still planning on doing some future work to our home on a smaller scale, and yes, we'd re-hire EA again - Mark and Nino can be trusted.
