Very poor communication (no replies to emails and voice mail messages) and failure to correct mistakes they made on upgrades. We paid $7,000 to have tile instead of floor pan. They used white caulk on dark tile. Looks horrible. Then they completely left out the shower kit we paid $1,500 each for. And even when we pointed out the error, still failed to address the problem. Now we're two weeks from possession and can't get anyone to answer our questions about what we need to do prior to move in. Just a terrible experience the whole way. Buyer beware.

I found Basements for Less through a Google search about a year before I wanted the work done. Andrei did a preliminary estimate for me (I should note, I wanted a high end basement and so many of the finishes and trim I chose were most expensive than the average...but that was my choice), as well as invited me to visit a basement renovation in progress in an upscale neighbourhood in Aurora. I was impressed with what I saw, so I kept in touch with Andrei over the months. Even though he had not yet commenced work for me, he was always available to answer my questions. When the work began, Andrei continued to be responsive and professional, bringing in the very best contractors to complete various aspects of the job. Now, one year later, my basement still looks fantastic. Any small adjustments that were needed post-work, Andrei was very responsive. I would recommend Basements for Less to anyone who is looking for quality, dependable workmanship and a fantastic project manager, in Andrei.

Bruce answered all of my questions and made a number of site visits while the work on my new system (air, heating, tankless water heater, fireplace, new duct work) was being completed. When there was an issue with the brand new A/C unit, the manufacturer (Carrier) was slow to respond and clearly had no idea what customer service entails. Bruce replaced the unit at his own expense, before it was clear whether or not Carrier would exchange the unit. In other words, he did the right thing.

Rio Stone sourced and installed a quartz countertop in my kitchen (including removal of existing granite counter). The fabricator/installer was excellent--very meticulous and willing to explain the process. He also ensured my counter was a single piece (seamless), whereas my previous granite counter was in two pieces, and not seamless. Overall the level of customer service was very good--Uri and Martin clearly have a strong desire to please their customers. However, scheduling was a bit of an issue and time to return phone calls was not consistent. That said, I'm very pleased with the end result. The price was very reasonable, especially given the requirement to remove a rather challenging existing granite counter top.
