I have always dreamt of polished concrete floors and I finally have them. I found Unique Touch Concrete through Homestars and am very please with the end result. When I first contacted them well in advance of my underpinning project, Tony described in detail all about cement and polishing and what I can expect. Once the underpinning was underway, Tony advised my contractor of the correct type of cement for the effect I was looking for. After a month of curing the cement, Edson overlooked the project and Vanderson was the polishing master. He was very detail oriented and a perfectionist! I was very particular about not too shiny of a finish and he was kind enough to show me 4 sample ways he could do the final buffing to get the desired effect. It looks a little shinier in the photos than it actually is. After only 4 days, my basement was complete with a minimal amount of dirt! Thank you!

Well, I finally let my husband convince me to get the basement underpinned. I was very skeptical about the whole process as my biggest fear was getting the main support beam changed…..what if something went wrong? Hence I did a lot of research in hiring a contractor. I interviewed companies from the homeshow, a couple of companies that had done renovations for us previously but in the end my gut said to go with True North Underpinning whom I actually found on Homestars. Upon meeting Daniel the owner, I knew right away our house would be in good hands and that he was the guy. He was very easy to talk to and explained the process step by step. Daniel also coordinated with my cement polishing company the correct cement to pour to produce the best final product. His quote was on target and didn’t have any hidden costs. My instincts were bang on about him and the True North Underpinning. The job started on the date specified and ended punctually. On the first day I was introduced to the crew, the foreman and project manager. Edgar and Josh were fantastic to work with. They were a very hard working crew. They arrived with the crew punctually and more often than not earlier than 7am every day. They ensured that all details were taken care of and any questions I had they answered. Also, all the coordination between the plumber and HVAC was flawless. Everything went very smoothly. As a side note, I unfortunately don’t have photos of the heated flooring being installed as I was away during that period. I can’t believe how stress free this whole process was. I would highly recommend True North Underpinning. Thank-you for a fantastic job on our basement!

Mike, Aldo and his crew were amazing!! We needed to have a fully finished water damaged basement gutted from top to bottom so our architect can draw up plans for an underpin project. Mike showed up a few days ahead of schedule with an amazing crew and had the job done in 8 hours flat! I couldn't believe how quickly they did it!! He left the place spotless. He is also very easy to talk to and very accommodating. I would high recommend Mike....I hope to work with him in the near future to do our basement reno.

For years I have been planning on a complete overhaul of my backyard, including removing the old deck and fence, getting rid of all the grass and making it a livable space , but never felt I had the right person for the job, even though I had had many consultations prior, until I met D'Arcy Flattery owner/designer of Flattery Design at the 2014 Canada Blooms Show ( it was his first time there). After having had a consult with him I knew he saw my vision of a very modern space featuring all the elements, fire, water, wood, earth, plants and stone . I am extremely particular in what I like so it was very importart that I hire someone that was also very easy to communicate with. D'Arcy and his crew were absolutely amazing. From the planning/design process through the completion of the project D'Arcy was very proffesional, punctual and always kept me in the know of what they were working on. D'Arcy and his crew , including Mark his foreman, were also perfectionists. The quality of their workmanship was outstanding, utmost attention was paid to every detail, especially my custom designed corten steel water feature. I should note that D'Arcy was also always on site and hands-on. I can't say enough nice things about D'Arcy and the stunning outdoor living space that he created. Our project was also on time and on budget! I would highly recommend Flattery Design.

From start to finish these guys were amazing!! Andrew was the representative with whom I signed on. He explained every detail of the process very clearly and answered all my questions. It was a massive job, we had old concrete that was poured around the house which had to be removed plus they had to dig 25' across the front of the house under the front porch ( tree roots galore!) without taking it apart to do a complete full house waterproof. Igor and his crew showed up punctually every day and were extremely tidy and very hard workers. They made sure no damage was done to any pipes or property and had a contractor come to disconnect and reconnect our A/C. Andrew showed up periodically as well to check on the crew and to see if I had any questions or concern, I had none. . Once the job was complete, the surrounding area was even tidier than when they showed up. I would highly recommend Aqua Tech Waterproofing!! They were simply superb. Worth ever dollar. Thank-you so much.....I now have peace of mind!
