Mega City Roofing did our roof in October 2013. The previous homeowners replaced the roof with "El-Cheapo" shingles in 2005 and, you guessed it, during some blowing fall rain storms, we had water infiltration issues. After hours of research, I narrowed my contractor selection to three roofing companies. Tom, from Mega City happened to be in the area quoting another job when I called for a quote. (He actually answers his phone - A rarity and a plus!) and he came by to see my issues. He went up on the roof to investigate (Another foreign concept to some roofers), identified the problem area and took pictures. He offered to fix the immediate problem, but I knew the whole roof was thinning as we've seen lots of shingle gravel run off and wanted to do the whole roof. Tom offered various options in terms of materials and price points. We went with the "Cadillac" option - Remove old shingles, new (and more) roof vents, full roof GAF Deck Armor, drip edge (none installed by previous roofer) and Timberline HD shingles. Tom, thankfully, was able to squeeze us in before the weather got too cold, saving us snow and spring thaw damage. We have had a lot of snow this year, plus ice storm and recently some record rain - We're dry and comfy! Tom and his team are a pleasure to deal with. I recommend them without reservation.

Hello Jim thank you for the review......As we do our best to make all our customers as comfortable as possible by installing the correct methods and proper underlayments making there homes dry and water tight.... A roof system only performs well if it's installed correctly. As i have seen numerous roofs that are only a few years old required replacement due to shoddy workmanship. Having a team of professionals is the key to installing a roof system correctly. Everyone on my team has there own speciality trades and know what they can do. As I can say we have a well rounded bunch of guys who take there trade seriously and make all the efforts in making it right. Anyways thanks again for all the continued support on-line as we appreciate it very much....keep well and dry for many years to come Jim.

Last year, we had Dennis address the obvious “Handyman specials” in our basement and do an overall safety check. He took care of minor problems, brought everything up to code and made everything safe and functional – (I.e. No more flipped breakers when running the microwave and Foreman grill for example, ) Also installed a whole house surge protector. He was not the cheapest, but I am very confident in his ESA approved work and he is a very nice guy to deal with. I know who to call (and recommend) for any future electrical work – Dennis at Global Works Electric Thanks Dennis Jim

We have done a fair bit of work to our house. We diligently research contractors even prior to requesting estimates. When it came to replacing our eavestrough - North Shore Eavestroughing made it to the shortlist. Darren came by to quote the job. He spent a fair bit of time investigating some of the concerns and problems we were experiencing and suggested solutions. I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and easy going manner. His quote – Using quality materials - Was very competitive. On installation day, Paul, Nick and Darren showed up bright and early as promised. They went at it in a careful, methodical way – Taking great care in the demo, installation and clean up processes. They even went above and beyond the call taking care of several little things they discovered in the process at no extra charge. They are great people to work with. The house looks great and the new eaves works great given the 40mm + rain test last week and another 10 mm today! No problems! I would whole heartily recommend them. Jim & Laryssa

Met Alex Barat of Eagle Flooring Services (250 Don Park rd.) in 2005. Very nice man. Seemed knowledgable and gave a fair, but not the cheapest, quote. It was mid-range of the quotes I got. Contract consisted of: - Removing old carpet, underpad and 1/4 round - Repair area where we removed a wall - Sand, finish and install new 1/4 round After completion, the job looked great, so I paid in full. After fully drying, bubbles started to appear in some areas. Even before we moved in, some areas started to peel and flake. I called to complain. They told me, on numerous occasions they were coming to fix it. Gave me specific dates and times of when they would come. I took part days off work, at least 4 days to meet them - Only to have them not show up. I would call, "Oh, we're running behind on another job. We'll be there." Guess what? Never came. I spent 6 months and over a dozen (easy) calls trying to get them back. No luck. I gave up. They do not stand behind their work. I understand mistakes can be made, but be a man. Own up to them and stand behind your work and make it right. Alex, or anyone at Eagle Flooring, if you want to make it right, you can reach me through this website. I'll gladly follow up with a "good news" review. Something tells me not to hold my breath......
