This was our second Rick Strand inspection. He saved us from a lot of unexpected chaos and financial strain the first time around (see my review from July 8, 2014). When we started house hunting again we tapped into what we'd learned from the first inspection before getting too excited about another house. We finally found a house we love and had Rick inspect it. It's an older house so there is plenty to do and keep an eye on but because Rick is so thorough and so knowledgeable we're confident there will be no unexpected surprises. Thanks again Rick!

Thanks for that Deb, glad you were happier with the second property. I never like to see clients have to pay for more than one inspection but it is money well spent in the long run. As you said, the good part about looking at houses after having attended a professional home inspection is that you can identify some deficiencies on your own before making another offer.

Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

We had our electrical panel replaced by Panel Upgrade Experts. Paul is personable, easy to reach, came when he said he would, charged what he said he would, didn't try to up-sell us, and did a great job (the inspector agreed). Couldn't be happier with the panel and the level of service!

I feel happy taking the extra time in our work when we get words like these. Thank you for your great feedback. Working for such great people is the best part about what we do. I look forward to working with you again in the near future. Paul

Hubbard Exteriors was recommended to us a few years ago when we were looking for new eaves troughs. We met with Kelly (as quickly as everyone says) and instantly felt he was trustworthy, knew what he was talking about and had a crew that would do a great job. It was all true, and we had Hubbard replace our roof as well. The crew was great, knowledgeable, and left no mess (which is great when you have little kids) and we're very happy with our eaves troughs and roof. We were recently looking to buy a new house and there was some discrepancy over the state of the roof. We asked Kelly to have a look so we could make an informed decision (to buy or not to buy?) and he fit an inspection in in a very tight time frame. We cannot thank him enough from saving us from a very costly situation. I would not hesitate to recommend Hubbard Roofing to anyone.

We had Rick inspect a home that appeared to be in great condition with a roof less than 5 years old. Rick's knowledge and thoroughness saved us from a house with a host of electrical and plumbing issues and a roof requiring immediate replacement (that a previous home inspector didn't even mention in his report). Rick was punctual, competitively priced, and taught me a lot about the house, the inspection process, various codes and best building practice. The final report was thorough and arrived the same day as the inspection. We will definitely be using Rick's services again - just as soon as we find another house!

Hi Deb, first off, thanks very much for the review. Low slope tar & gravel roofs can be difficult to inspect, it was great that you were able to get a professional roofing contractor to verify my findings before lifting your inspection conditions. It's too bad that the deal fell through but I'm glad that I was able to provide you with the information you needed to make an informed decision.
